  1. What is nasal tip surgery?
  2. Types of surgery

Correction of the tip of the nose is one of the most popular areas of rhinoplasty. The operation allows you to remove snub-noses, reduce the width of the apex, lengthen or shorten the nasal tip, and make this part of the face thinner and more graceful. In addition, such plastic surgery is often performed in conjunction with other types of surgical intervention, helping to create an ideal appearance for you.

What is nasal tip surgery?

Plastic surgery allows you to sharpen a rounded nose, narrow it too wide, raise a lowered one or straighten a curved one. Depending on the existing defect, during the operation, only soft tissues may be affected or the position of the cartilage may change.

For example, the cause of a too wide and rounded tip is usually due to excessive thick dermis in this area. Therefore, this problem can be solved by excising excess skin. But to raise the lowered nose without removing part of the cartilage will no longer work.

The main problem of the presented type of rhinoplasty is the complexity of the work and the need to carry out the operation with jewelry precision. Therefore, when referring to inexperienced surgeons, the patient risks getting an even less attractive profile. To avoid possible complications, you should take a responsible approach to the choice of a doctor, study in detail the portfolio of surgeons and, if possible, communicate live with the former patients of the doctor you like.

Types of surgery

Depending on the patient's problems, the technique of the operation will also differ:

  • An oversized tip of the nose is reduced by resection of the supporting structure. During the operation, the surgeon removes part of the cartilage, reducing the size of the cartilaginous dome. To achieve a more pronounced effect, part of the wing shafts is also excised.
  • To narrow the wide tip of the nose, one of three methods is used: convergence of the nasal cartilages, which makes the nose sharper; installation of an additional cartilage element between the cartilaginous domes (used only with a small nose height); resection of the central cartilage followed by suturing of the lateral parts.
  • The tip of the nose can be raised by excision of the cartilage tissue, resection of the columella and part of the nasal muscles, as well as by installing an additional cartilage element. The choice of the correction method depends on the condition of the patient's own tissues and the cause of the problem.
  • To get rid of snub-noses, the patient's own cartilage tissue or the implantation of a silicone implant can be transplanted. The graft material is placed along the dorsum of the nose, which allows the tip to be noticeably lowered. Snub-nosedness can be a genetic feature or a consequence of a failed rhinoplasty.
  • The main cause of a split nose is thought to be too thin dermal tissue in this area. The operation to correct the problem is similar to the correction of a wide base. In the process of plastic surgery, the doctor first sutures the medial legs, and then transplants the autotissue into this area.
  • To eliminate curvatures caused by accidents, injuries or unsuccessful operations, special silicone implants or pre-processed to the desired size own cartilage tissue the patient. The same methods are often used to expand the too narrowed tip of the nose.

If the patient is worried about minor defects in appearance, then the flaws can be corrected using non-surgical methods:

  • introduction into the problem area of adipose tissue;
  • with the help of injections of fillers based on hyaluronic acid;
  • with Aptos threads, allowing you to move the fabric to the desired position.

The choice of the method of surgical intervention depends on the existing defect in appearance and the desired result. Surgical correction is permanent, but has a small risk of complications. Non-surgical techniques are considered the safest, but to maintain the result, the procedure must be repeated periodically.

Exactly what method to correct the shape of the nose is up to you. But if you do not want to become a regular client of a plastic surgery clinic, it is better to decide on an operation once and enjoy the perfect nose shape all your life.
