Hypertrophy of the cervix

Elongation of the cervix and hypertrophy is often observed in the process of gradually occurring prolapsed and lowered uterus. In this case, these phenomena can reach very large sizes. Of course, the hypertrophy of the uterus, which is observed in the fall and fall of the genitals, in fact, does not have independent significance. However, in rare cases, doctors could observe when a patient complained of falling out that the uterus's bottom was practically not lowered, while the elongated and hypertrophied vaginal part protruded from the genital gaps. If the hypertrophy is small, then only the anterior lip of the vaginal part can be lengthened, which will protrude above the back, closing it in the form of a wide trunk.

If the hypertrophy that caused the patient to feel a drop or fall, while the uterus's bottom is actually almost in place, is significant, this may be an indication for the appointment of an operation to amputate the elongated and hypertrophied cervix. In the overwhelming majority of cases, lengthening and neck hypertrophy, which give a sense of loss, are not a separate phenomenon, but accompany the fall or fall of the entire uterus, leading to the need for more complex treatment.

Cervical thickening( hypertrophy) can be the result of cervical inflammation of a chronic nature. Often, the cervix can be affected by the inflammatory process with the body of the uterus. A large thickening as a result of the inflammatory process can often be present in the form of follicular hypertrophy. The glandular passages in the area of the inflamed mucosa can often be clogged and transformed into retention vesicles;the proliferating and inflamed stroma leads to the loosening of the glandular follicles, which are transformed into cysts, about the size of a millet, in some cases - with a pea and more. These are the so-called "set" testicles.

The deeper set of testicles can penetrate into the neck tissue in the erosion region, often leading to a significant increase and thickening of the entire neck.

Indications for the appointment of surgical treatment of an increase in the neck arising from a background of chronic inflammation is most often a follicular variety of hypertrophy, accompanied by poly- and hypermenorrhea, sacral pain, etc. In some cases, normal scarification of the cervix can give good results. Contraindication for it can be the presence of subacute and acute inflammatory processes in the pelvic region, as well as inflammation of the pelvic peritoneum, epididymis and cellulose.

The method of scarification consists in the following - the vaginal part of the uterus and the vagina itself, using iodine tincture and alcohol, are disinfected in mirrors. The vaginal part is captured and fixed using bullet forceps. Do not too far reduce the vaginal part, as this leads to pain. In principle, you can not use bullet forceps, if there is an opportunity to expose the neck with the help of mirrors. After all the required surface has been treated with iodine tincture, all the testicular testes in the field of vision are pierced with a long scalpel, and small incisions of 1 cm near the uterine throat are made. With the help of these actions, local bloodletting from the stagnant cervix of the uterus and emptying of the testicles are performed. If the bleeding is not too strong, then it stops by itself, so there is no need for measures to stop it. If the bleeding does not stop, the surface of the vagina is treated with a tampon sprinkled with white streptocide, which should be left in the vagina for about half a day or more. The patient should adhere to bed rest for a couple of days. Since the basis of the disease is inflammation of the cervix, a week and a half after the procedure of scarification begins treatment with iodine-glycerin tampons.

Another method of treating hypertrophy is diathermocoagulation, which is often more effective than scarification. This method does not require bloodletting, and due to the fact that it coagulates( coagulates) the tissue, it turns out a kind of additional effect of treating inflammation.
