Possible Causes of
- Presence of an infection, especially a viral infection. Speaking of a viral infection, the human papillomavirus( HPV), as well as the herpesvirus type II, is of prime importance in pathological changes in the cervix. Also important in the formation of problems of the cervix are chlamydia, mycoplasma, trichomonas infection. The presence of infection in the body leads to a decrease in immunity, which also predisposes to the development of pathology.
- Hormonal disorders. The cervix is a "target tissue" for sex hormones - in the same way as the uterus and mammary glands, it is subject to the influence of sex hormones. Therefore, a violation of the hormonal background leads to the pathology of the cervix. If the menstrual cycle is broken, then this increases the probability of pathological disorders of the cervix 5 times.
- Cervical injury arising during labor or during abortion and leading to physical changes in the cervix, forming scarring. These changes lead to impaired blood circulation, and consequently, nutrition of tissues, which along with incomplete closure of the external throat of the cervix creates prerequisites for the formation of precancerous processes.
- Too early sexual intercourse( up to 14-16 years) and childbirth at a young age( up to 16-17 years), because at this age the cells of the cervix are not mature enough and are susceptible to infection, are easily vulnerable.
- Heredity - the risk of problems with the cervix is increased by 1.5 times if the family had similar diseases.
