Treatment of sinusoidal arrhythmia

The heart is the second most important organ in our body after the brain. Therefore, it is vital to closely monitor the health of the heart and its adequate work. An irregular alternation of contractions of the heart is a sinusoidal( sinus) arrhythmia.

What is sinusoidal arrhythmia?

In a normal state, each person has a slightly irregular sinus rhythm. The difference is more than ten percent in the rhythm of the heart contractions - this rhythm is called sinusoidal( sinus) arrhythmia and is considered a pathology.

In the normal operation of the heart should be the presence of sinusoid arrhythmia - it is the variability of the heart rate. The absence of this type of arrhythmia reports heart failure or ischemic disease( myocardial depletion).

The type of arrhythmia we are considering is mainly found in adolescents and children. Sinusoidal arrhythmia is respiratory and functional. The cardiac rhythm on exhalation becomes slower, and increases with inhalation. Arrhythmia associated with breathing does not require treatment. With a brief delay in breathing, it disappears. This method is sometimes used to detect arrhythmia, as a diagnostic test.

Treatment of sinusoidal arrhythmia

Sinusoidal arrhythmia does not need treatment, if it is independent. It does not show symptoms. The doctor can prescribe therapy with mild action( sedative) only in extreme cases.

In the case where a sinusoidal arrhythmia is accompanied by another type of arrhythmia, diagnosis should immediately be carried out to determine the causes of the pathology and effective treatment. Self-medication in this case is vitally dangerous. A permanent ECG is performed during the course of and the appointment of antiarrhythmic therapy, in order to select the right drugs and determine the effectiveness of their action.

In those cases when the arrhythmia is combined or is clearly pronounced and delivers the discomfort to a patient, it is determined by etiological pathology.

Sinusoidal arrhythmia, which caused rheumatism or myocardial infarction, is lost in the therapy of these diseases.

Quite often, this arrhythmia causes disturbance of the tone of the vagus nerve. In this case, the medication is taken with drugs that affect its tone directly or through the CNS.Effective is atropine.
