Mucous membrane of the stomach with different forms of gastritis

Acute and chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa is a common pathology. However, not many people know that there is a form of the disease, called polyposis gastritis. It is considered to be a precancerous stage.

Inflammation of the gastric mucosa, accompanied by the formation of polyps, is commonly referred to as polyposis gastritis.

The etiology of the disease is not fully established. Until now, scientists are arguing about whether polyps are a consequence of gastritis or are indifferent to the disease.

It is accepted to distinguish several forms of polyposis gastritis:

  • inflammatory - hyperplastic polyps;
  • adenomatous polyps, which are tumors of unknown origin.

Polyps may be located locally or occupy a large area of the stomach. Often, against the background of reproduction of polyps, atrophic gastritis, acute gastritis with insufficiency of the digestive enzyme is detected. In medical practice cases of sprouting polypous neoplasms into the duodenum are known. Not having a malignant character, polyps carry a dangerous potential.

The fact is that any benign formations in the body are a kind of time bomb. Over time, they can mutate, change their properties. What becomes a prerequisite for the degeneration of cells, science is not known. Having a benign character, polyposis gastritis in the medical world is considered a precancerous condition. The formation of permanent erosion and ulcers on the background of polyps is in ninety-eight cases of a hundred oncological disease, which requires immediate surgical intervention.

Types of gastritis

Symptoms of

Manifestations of the disease progress as the area in the stomach infected with polyps increases. Painful sensations can not disturb a person for more than a decade.

Favorable conditions for reproduction and active life of polyps lead to the appearance of anxiety symptoms. Under their influence, the digestive enzyme is reduced, which leads to a stable absence of food splitting.

Discomfort intensifies belching with an unpleasant aftertaste, a feeling of heaviness after eating. Characterized by the presence in the stool of not crushed food elements. Another characteristic sign of polyposis gastritis is painless gastric bleeding after taking solid food or alcoholic beverages. You can independently check for internal bleeding. To do this, it is necessary to induce a vomitive reflex by pressing on the root of the tongue. Blood in saliva, the taste of iron in the mouth in the morning hours is also a strong argument.

Treatment

A special feature in the therapy of this disease, which distinguishes it from other forms of gastritis, is immediate surgical intervention. In the process, a significant part of the stomach is excised. This need is due to the deep penetration of the root of the polyp, which has a malignant character, into the walls of the organ.

Incompetent surgery often becomes a trigger for the development of an irreversible malignant process. That is why it is necessary to contact a qualified specialist in a timely manner, to undergo diagnostics and treatment of the disease.

Independent spontaneous taking of medications, traditional medicine can provoke active reproduction of malignant cells, lead to oncology. Surgical intervention at the stage of diagnosis polyposis gastritis is the only adequate measure of therapy.

Careful attitude to one's own organism, exclusion of bad habits, minimizing the risk of psycho-emotional overload, balanced nutrition will be the best preventative measure.
