Ezlor is an antihistamine drug that helps to cope with the manifestations of allergies. Let's talk about it in more detail.

Composition, price
This agent is a prominent representative of histamine H-cholinergic receptor blockers. Ezlor's active ingredient, desloratadine, stops the development of reactions leading to allergies. In addition to it, the composition contains auxiliary components - povidone, microcellulose and magnesium stearate. Ezlor comes in film-coated tablets. The medicine is sold through pharmacy chains in polymer or cardboard packages, each of which contains from one to ten blisters with 10 pills.
Ezlor's manufacturer is a Russian pharmaceutical company, Ozon LLC.
You can buy the product without a doctor's prescription. In Russia, its cost is from 290 rubles. for a package containing 10 tablets, in Ukraine the same volume will cost from 259 hryvnia.
Indications
Ezlor successfully relieves the symptoms of allergic reactions. Its therapeutic effect directly depends on compliance with all the recommendations in the instructions for use. Ezlor's reception for both an adult patient and a child should be coordinated with a specialist.
Indications:
- Allergic conjunctivitis, rhinitis. The drug completely eliminates lacrimation, runny nose, swelling of the respiratory tract, provoked by an allergen, while alleviating the patient's condition.
- Hives. Ezlor effectively stops itching and rashes, stopping their further spread.

Instructions for use
Upon entering the body, Ezlor actively suppresses the synthesis of inflammatory mediators (cytokines) and blocks the response of eosinophils to the influence of various stimuli. Together with this, it releases histamine and prostaglandin, thereby stopping the development of allergies and making the person feel better.
Adults. Ezlor is taken in the dosage recommended by the manufacturer - 5 mg per day. The tablet must be swallowed completely, without allowing resorption or chewing. It is allowed to drink a small amount of water. Eating food does not affect the absorption of the medication, so Ezlor can be taken with food.
Application during pregnancy and lactation. Treatment with the drug for expectant mothers is contraindicated, since there have been no clinical studies regarding its safety for fetal development.
It has been proven that the active component of Ezlor, desloratadine, penetrates into the breast ducts of a nursing mother and is excreted in milk, therefore, taking the medication during lactation is also prohibited.
Application in children. The drug is not prescribed for children under 12 years of age. If a child has crossed this age limit, he can use Ezlor according to a scheme that is fair for an adult. Treatment is necessarily carried out under the supervision of an allergist.
Side effects
We will talk about the undesirable reactions of the body that occur when taking Ezlor in the following table.
| Reactions of individual organ systems | Description |
|---|---|
| THE IMMUNE SYSTEM | Urticaria, anaphylactic shock |
| CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM | Headaches, insomnia, irritability |
| THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM | Cardiopalmus |
| GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT | Nausea, vomiting |
| OTHER | Impairment of performance, fatigue |
Contraindications
Ezlor is not recommended for the following conditions:
- pregnancy and lactation;
- age up to 12 years;
- increased drug resistance;
- lactose intolerance.
In addition, Ezlor does not affect the ability to drive a car and work with complex mechanical devices.
Overdose
Taking the drug in an amount greater than the daily volume does not lead to serious changes in the body. Studies have been conducted in which adults took up to 20 mg of desloratadine daily for 2 weeks. This process was not accompanied by significant, from a medical point of view, systemic disorders.
Despite these facts, in case of an accidental overdose of Ezlor, experts recommend flushing the stomach and taking any enterosorbent.
Interaction with drugs and alcohol
Interaction with other medicinal products has not been described.
Desloratadine does not increase the effect of ethanol on the central nervous system and does not lose its effect upon contact with it.
Analogs
Consider drugs that may be analogues or substitutes for Ezlor.
Desal. If Ezlor is not available at the pharmacy for some reason, and the allergy cannot wait, you can buy a cheaper product, Desal. It also contains desloratadine as an active ingredient. The drug is prescribed for the treatment of skin-type allergic reactions. If we are talking about the symptoms of puffiness and problems with the respiratory system, in this case, stronger means should be used, since Desal will not cope with them.
Like Ezlor, it is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, children under 12 years of age and with intolerance to certain components of the drug. Reviews about Desal are mostly positive. The price per pack is about 220 rubles.

Lordestine. Another cheap analogue of the antiallergic agent we are considering, Ezlor. Both drugs have a similar component composition, which is based on desloratadine. The description states that Lordestin should be used for skin allergies and conjunctivitis.
The remedy is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women, children and with drug intolerance. It is also noted that persons over 65 years of age and suffering from kidney disease need to discuss the advisability of taking Lordestin with a specialized specialist.
The daily dosage and regimen of the drug corresponds to the prescriptions of Ezlor - 5 mg once a day. The duration of the treatment course depends on the clinical picture of the disease. Lordestin is available in two forms - syrup in 60 ml bottles, costing from 130 rubles. and tablets in packs of 10 at a price of 305 rubles.
Loratadin. This drug, perhaps, is known to all allergy sufferers, and not only because it is cheap - about 25 rubles per pack, but also because of its effectiveness, which is not inferior to more expensive analogues. The active ingredient of the drug, as in the above-described medicines, is desloratadine.
But, unlike more expensive analogues, Loratadin is allowed for children over 2 years old. The indications for the use of the remedy will be the same as those of Ezlor. It is contraindicated to use the drug for pregnant and lactating mothers.
Reviews
According to the reviews, Ezlor in a short time stops the allergic process in the body and nullifies all its symptoms. At the same time, the main advantages of the drug are reduced to a convenient dosing regimen and the absence of drowsiness after taking, which is the sin of antihistamines of the old generation. Of the minuses, many note the inflated cost of the drug.
Consider some reviews from real buyers.
Margarita, 26 years old. “In early May, I suddenly developed an allergy, suspicion fell on chlorine, as itching started immediately after visiting the pool. The pharmacy advised several drugs, but I decided to start with a dietary supplement from the Evalar company - the Primasorb capsule, which, according to the description, removes allergens and toxins from the body. Unfortunately, the skin rash and itching did not go away, and on the next visit to the pharmacy I bought Ezlor. The drug really helped, the unpleasant symptoms stopped almost on the same day. An excellent escape from allergies. "
Irina, 34 years old. “Since childhood I have been suffering from animal hair intolerance, so antihistamine tablets are always in my purse. Of course, in my life I have used many drugs for allergies, starting with Suprastin. Now my favorite is Ezlor. The product does not cause drowsiness, works quickly, and the effect lasts at least 24 hours. Recommend".
Before purchasing Ezlor at the pharmacy for the treatment of allergic reactions that have arisen, it is recommended that you first discuss the advisability of using it with your doctor. Even the absence of requirements for the presentation of a prescription should not be a reason for self-medication.
