Benefit and harm
Broth of oats has various positive aspects. These include:
- Like any dishes from the component in question, such a decoction is characterized by enveloping properties - it is able to create on gastric mucosa, a film that protects the digestive organs from harmful effects (food products, hydrochloric acid and enzymes).
- Oatmeal broth helps to improve appetite and "prepares" the digestive tract for food processing, improving enzyme production and motor skills. It is considered an effective remedy for constipation accompanying the chronic form of pancreatitis.
- Fiber of oats "absorbs" and removes cholesterol, toxins, helping to cleanse and heal the body.
- Oats are rich in vitamins and minerals, and carbohydrates are expressed in starch (complex carbohydrate, continuously processed, which creates a feeling of satiety and does not increase the content sugar in the bloodstream).
After eating meals made from oats, a protective film forms on the mucous membrane of the digestive tract.
Fiber, which is contained in such grains, makes it possible to remove cholesterol and toxic substances from the body. Oat dishes saturate the body in the shortest possible time and do not lead to an increase in glucose.
However, oat dishes can do some harm. Whole grains are characterized by intense choleretic action.
This property is quite dangerous for those patients in whom the disease was caused or proceeds due to difficulties with the gallbladder (gallstone disease, obstruction of the biliary ducts, cholecystitis and etc.).
In such cases, oat broth therapy should not be carried out, especially without the consent of a specialist, even during stable remission. It can cause a new attack of the disease.
For some patients who suffer from chronic diarrhea of diarrhea with pancreatitis, the laxative effect of the decoction will also be unfavorable.
In such a situation, it is imperative to find out the recommendations of the attending specialist, so as not to aggravate the pathological process.
Choosing the right oats
To prepare the broth, unprocessed oats are used, which has not been purified. The infusion will work if it is made from cereals that are harvested from the fields.
It is permissible to collect it yourself or purchase it. From a grain that is capable of sprouting, the broth will come out more effective.
The therapy is carried out in a complex manner. Diet and other prescriptions should not be neglected.
In such a situation, the broth will prevent the transformation of the pathological process into a chronic stage, make it possible to eliminate unpleasant symptoms.
Oats in the acute period and between exacerbations of pancreatitis
It is necessary to use oats for pancreatitis at the stage of exacerbation. During this period, it is required to adhere to a strict dietary diet, to exclude virtually any food.
Hunger will become one of the main prescriptions during an exacerbation of pancreatitis. And if food is allowed, it is possible to use limited varieties of products.
And in this case, liquid oat porridge in water will be the best solution. It will provide an opportunity to get rid of inflammation, calm the pancreas and improve the functioning of the digestive tract.
Other advantages of the cereal include:
- increased protein concentration;
- quickly processed vegetable fats;
- counteraction to aggressive microorganisms;
- the presence of antioxidants.
Only oats have protein, which contains a large amount of amino acids involved in its processing by the body.
Oatmeal interferes with the functioning of aggressive enzymes, thereby preventing the necrosis of glandular cells and helps to restore the mucous membrane. Antioxidants remove inflammation inside the pancreas.
If the attack was stopped, the patient is prescribed porridge made from oatmeal or pureed flakes.
On the first day, it is forbidden to stir salt, sugar and milk. When a person begins to recover, it is later permissible to add a small piece of butter to the diet, but only before serving. The food itself will remain in a semi-liquid form.
Then it is possible to make steamed puddings, soufflés and soups from similar flour. During the recovery period, porridge with skim milk is added to the menu.
For prophylactic purposes of an attack of pancreatitis at the stage of remission, dietary nutrition is also necessary.
The patient's task at this stage will be to prevent a secondary exacerbation, and for this purpose, oat therapy should not stop.
It is permissible to eat ordinary whole-grain cereals, mix oatmeal into cutlets, drink jelly from cereals.
A good dessert is freshly baked oatmeal cookies, which can be washed down with rosehip broth or unsweetened tea.
Grain preparation
Before preparing the preparation, the grains need to be prepared. The oats need to be germinated to make the flour for the decoction.
- The grains are washed, filled with cool water, and left for about a day.
- When they have softened and germinated, the liquid is drained, the remainder is dried.
- The dried grains are processed into flour. Tinctures are prepared from raw materials for the treatment of the disease in question.
- The flour is stored in a bag, in a glass jar with a lid.
Treatment by means of such a remedy is prescribed for the acute and chronic stages of the disease. In addition, it is also used for prophylactic purposes.
Cooking methods
Positive characteristics of patients about oatmeal broth in the presence of pancreatitis indicate its positive qualities, that the use of tincture helps to reduce discomfort or improve the patient's well-being when exacerbation.
Healing oat infusion
Oat tincture for the disease under consideration is prepared in this way: 1 tsp. l. flour is stirred in 150 g of warm boiled water and cooked over low heat for a quarter of an hour.
It is required to control the temperature indicators and not bring the mass to a boil. The finished mass needs to cool down a little, and then pour into a glass.
Only a fresh tincture is required to be consumed, it is prepared for 1 time. The broth is consumed daily before meals in large sips with long intervals between them (approximately 1 minute). The duration of the therapeutic course is 12 months.
A similar recipe is used for chronic pancreatitis, and during an exacerbation, about 50 g of motherwort, which is steamed, are added to the finished mass.
Oat milk recipe
In addition, an excellent result can be achieved by eating oat milk. To make such a remedy, you will need 100 g of unpeeled cereal in 1.5 liters of water.
The grains are washed with water, reclined in a colander, boiled over low heat for about 1 hour.
20 minutes before the end of cooking, the grains are pounded using a crust of wood. The finished mass is continued to cook for the remaining time.
The product is defended, then filtered. The mass will have a white tint. A tincture of 100 g is taken (for children, the dosage is reduced to 50 g) up to 3 times throughout the day before a meal.
It is possible to keep it in the refrigerator for a certain period of time, but a maximum of 15 days.
Distilled water decoction
There is another common effective recipe for brewing oats for pancreatic pancreatitis.
Washed and sifted from the husk cereal (about 1 glass), you need to pour 1 liter of distilled water. Let the product brew until morning.
The next day, the mass is boiled and cooked over low heat for about 25 minutes. Then it is removed and wrapped up for 12 hours.
Then the oatmeal broth is filtered and such an amount of water is added so that at the end 1 liter of the mixture comes out.
It is consumed in small sips for half a glass 25 minutes before a meal. The therapeutic course lasts 4 weeks.
Oats as part of the diet
Therapy with such a cereal for the pathology under consideration is prescribed at various stages.
In addition, the patient must comply with the prescribed dietary food, exclude the use of alcohol and tobacco smoking, and prevent the occurrence of stress.
Through such porridge, the human body will recover in the shortest possible time after starvation.
Initially (during an exacerbation) oatmeal is ground and consumed without added sugar, cooked in water. The rest of the broth can be used when cooking soups.
After a certain period of time, the porridge is made in a semi-liquid state, then flakes are used, where it is allowed to mix butter.
Contraindications
Oats, like other medicinal plants, have certain contraindications for use. These include:
- stones inside the gallbladder;
- difficulties in the work of the heart;
- increased acidity;
- personal susceptibility to the components of a similar cereal.
It is impossible to completely get rid of the pathological processes in the digestive tract, however, it is likely to transfer the disease to the stage of stable remission.
It should be borne in mind that there may be an overdose when using this cereal. In such situations, pain in the head is formed, the head is spinning, blood pressure goes down and constipation occurs.
Subsequent therapy with a similar method needs to be discussed with a specialist in order to avoid the occurrence of various adverse effects and to select the appropriate therapy using another means.
