All about human digestion
Follicular bulbitis is an acute inflammatory process that affects the duodenal bulb. It is diagnosed during endoscopy: clusters of small vesicles - follicles are formed on the intestine. It is manifested by painful sensations of varying severity, dyspeptic disorders, with a severe course of the pathological process, bleeding occurs.

Causes
The disease occurs under the influence of external and internal factors:
- metabolic disorders;
- endocrine pathologies;
- infectious - helminthic invasion, increased activity of lamblia, bacterial toxins, viruses;
- non-infectious - the effects of drugs, toxic damage to the mucous membranes;
- stress, non-observance of the regime of work, rest, sleep.
Medicines that most often provoke inflammatory reactions:
- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs based on indomethacin, aspirin;
- drugs based on reserpine.
The risk group includes people with metabolic disorders, errors in nutrition: abuse of fatty, spicy, heavy foods, as well as fried, salty foods. An improper diet negatively affects the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract, provokes the progression of chronic pathologies.
Manifestations
The main manifestation of follicular bulbitis is acute cramping pain, which can radiate to the navel or back. Localized under the spoon, may have an aching character. It manifests itself mainly at night or on an empty stomach. The clinical picture is complemented by the following symptoms:
- belching;
- bitterness in the mouth;
- heartburn;
- increased fatigue;
- nausea;
- bouts of vomiting;
- defecation disorders;
- bad breath;
- headache;
- dizziness;
- muscle weakness.
In childhood, diagnosis in most cases is difficult, since there are no characteristic symptoms of the disorder. Bulbitis often occurs in children who have had gastritis. The disease progresses faster than in adults. Special attention should be paid to complaints of discomfort in the abdominal region, muscle weakness, stool disorders, headache.
At the first symptoms of a violation, it is recommended to refrain from self-medication and seek advice from a gastroenterologist.

Diagnostics
It is necessary to differentiate follicular bulbitis with other pathological processes that can affect the duodenum. The diagnosis is confirmed on the basis of the clinical picture, oral questioning, examination of the patient, as well as the results of a comprehensive examination:
- fibrogastroesophagoduodenoscopy, which reveals altered areas in the form of hemorrhages, edema, altered epithelium, bulb enlargement;
- fluoroscopy with preliminary administration of a barium preparation to determine the motor activity of the duodenum.
Comprehensive diagnostics allows you to identify ulcerative lesions localized on the bulbous membranes.
In addition to instrumental diagnostics, a laboratory study is shown: a general and biochemical blood test, antibodies for Helicobacter, a coprogram, a study of feces for dysbiosis.

Treatment
Follicular bulbitis therapy requires an integrated approach: patients are prescribed a diet, drugs. Basic nutritional principles:
- small portions, fractional meals 4-5 times a day;
- food - gentle, so as not to irritate the gastrointestinal tract;
- food temperature - not too hot or cold;
- it is necessary to introduce chicken broth, porridge on water, soup-puree into the diet.
The use of canned food, smoked meats, pickles, fried, spicy, salty foods, as well as a large amount of fruits and vegetables with a large amount of coarse fiber is prohibited. After the normalization of health, the menu is supplemented with fish or steamed meat.
The scheme of drug therapy depends on the underlying factor that provoked the inflammatory process. It is mandatory to carry out antiparasitic cleaning using chemicals, as well as herbs. Deparasization is a long-term process, since helminths and their larvae penetrate into different tissues and can show resistance to the drugs used.
Self-medication is unacceptable, since it can aggravate the course of the pathological process and provoke complications.
Traditional therapy
Traditional medicine is used as an adjunct to the basic treatment recommended by the doctor.
To prepare a healing infusion from follicular bulbite, the following components will be required:
- tansy;
- Oak bark;
- sagebrush;
- buckthorn bark.
All components are crushed and mixed. 2 tablespoons of the collection are poured with hot water and left to infuse for 12-15 hours. Take on an empty stomach, before breakfast. The remedy restores damaged areas, normalizes stool, and reduces the toxic load on the body.
To combat parasitic infection, an infusion is used based on:
- wormwood;
- tansy;
- carnations.
All components are mixed in equal proportions, a tablespoon of raw materials is poured with 250 ml of boiling water and insisted for half an hour. It is taken in the morning, on an empty stomach and before going to bed. Taking the drug is contraindicated in children, pregnant and lactating women. The active ingredients can also be used to prepare the tincture. To do this, instead of boiling water, use alcohol and insist in a dark place for 15-20 days.
To speed up the process of regeneration of damaged mucous membranes, the use of such funds is recommended:
- rosehip jelly;
- a decoction of whole grain oats;
- flax seed jelly;
- aloe juice.
These components accelerate healing, restore the functional state of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract. The load on the gastrointestinal tract decreases, the protective properties of the body increase. The listed products are suitable for use in children.
Prophylaxis
To prevent the development of follicular bulbitis, it is recommended to revise the diet, observe the drinking regime, eliminate the source stress, give up bad habits: smoking, drinking alcohol, give preference to moderate physical activity.
What complications can arise?
The lack of quality therapy is fraught with complications: the transformation of follicular bulbitis into ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenum. In childhood, the follicular form can become ulcerative, which is more difficult to treat.
The prognosis for patients with follicular bulbitis depends on how timely the violation was detected and the appropriate treatment was selected. For patients who started treatment on time, the prognosis is favorable.
