Diarrhea by week

Watery stools in the early stages of gestation are divided according to the degree of danger, taking into account the week of pregnancy. To help pregnant women, you need to know the features of the course of pregnancy by week.

In the first 2 weeks, the egg moves to the uterus, fixing itself to its wall. At 4 weeks, the fetal heartbeat is detected, the following signs appear:

  • increased fatigue in pregnant women;
  • drowsiness appears;
  • disturbed by morning sickness.

Liquid stool of a bacterial or infectious nature, detected at the 4th week, adversely affects the cardiac activity of the fetus. The next week, the central nervous system develops, the face of the embryo is formed.

Diarrhea during this period of pregnancy helps to reduce the amount of folate, which is necessary for the development of the central nervous system. The embryo changes from 6-9 weeks. It turns into a fruit.

Against the background of such changes, toxicosis is provoked, which may be accompanied by diarrhea.

An intestinal disorder in pregnant women at 7 weeks, which is accompanied by abdominal pain and fever, is considered the most dangerous condition during this period of pregnancy.

To provide medical care, it is necessary to find out the etiology of this disorder.

Diarrhea causes

Loose stools can bother pregnant women in the early stages for the following reasons:

  • intestinal disorder against the background of a weakening of the female body and a decrease in immune defense, which is necessary to maintain pregnancy;
  • a physiological phenomenon characteristic of a given period in a woman's life. Other dyspeptic symptoms typical of pregnancy include nausea, bloated abdomen, constipation;
  • toxicosis - loose stools are often the main harbinger of conception. It manifests itself in the early stages along with other symptoms of toxicosis;
  • intake of synthetic trace elements - some vitamin complexes provoke nausea and loose stools. Therefore, vitamins should be drunk during pregnancy only as directed by a gynecologist. When diarrhea or other side effects appear, the rejection of the taken vitamins and their replacement with new analogues is shown;
  • hormonal etiology - diarrhea, which is accompanied by spasms, signals a possible miscarriage;
  • infections, parasites, viruses, toxins - loose stools provoked by these microorganisms are severe. The patient is additionally disturbed by pains of a different nature in the abdomen, vomiting, dehydration. To maintain pregnancy, hospitalization of the patient is indicated;
  • unstable NS - diarrhea in the early stages of gestation can be psychogenic, since during this period there is increased nervous instability.

Classification of diarrhea

In the early stages, women in a position may experience the following types of diarrhea:

  • hyperexudative - appears with inflammation of the intestinal lumen and the appearance of ulcers. Such a clinic is typical for acute infection, intestinal tuberculosis, ulcerative colitis. The stool may contain pus with mucus and blood;
  • secretory - loose stools caused by impaired absorption in the intestine or increased secretion of fluid into the lumen. With this phenomenon, the feces have a yellowish or greenish tint. A similar clinic is characteristic of cholera;
  • hypokinetic - occurs against the background of impaired intestinal motility, emotional stress, taking a laxative;
  • osmolar - associated with impaired absorption of substances due to FN, DN. With this kind of diarrhea, there are particles of undigested food in the stool. In terms of duration, loose stools can be:
  • acute, which occurs suddenly;
  • long lasting more than 2 weeks;
  • chronic that lasts a long time.

Associated clinic

Since loose stools are provoked by various factors, therefore, it may be accompanied by various signs:

  • unpleasant feces odor, which can be sour, putrid;
  • the presence of mucus, foam and blood in the stool;
  • unusual color of feces;
  • heat;
  • nausea;
  • weakness;
  • lack of appetite.

Rare accompanying signs are dry mouth, unusual taste, thirst, red urine, dizziness. This clinic indicates severe dehydration in the early stages of gestation.

For pregnancy, diarrhea can be dangerous in the following cases:

  • the rapid loss of trace elements, which adversely affects the intrauterine development of the fetus. With an abundance of trace elements, the normal development of the embryo is ensured;
  • frequent spasms can provoke uterine contraction;
  • intoxication can provoke a miscarriage;
  • allergy, which is accompanied by diarrhea, negatively affects the development of the fetus during the entire pregnancy. In this case, an allergic predisposition can be hereditary. With severe allergies, the patient is prescribed antihistamines.

If in the early stages a woman is worried about severe diarrhea, for the elimination of which medication is required, consultation with a gynecologist is required.

Uncontrolled drug therapy can adversely affect the subsequent course of pregnancy.

Diagnostic techniques

If diarrhea bothers a long period, laboratory diagnostics are shown. If dysbiosis is suspected, the ratio of bad, good and conditionally good intestinal microflora is determined.

To identify enterobiasis, you need to be tested for pinworms. With the help of the diagnosis of three-time scraping, helminths are detected in the early stages.

If there is blood in the stool, the doctor may suspect bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.

Based on the results of the analysis of feces and the presence of food in it, the doctor may suspect a disturbed work of the pancreas or intestines. If loose stools are provoked by an infection, a LHC is performed by sowing feces.

With the help of coprogram, a biochemical blood test is performed, which detects bleeding, inflammation and thrombosis during pregnancy.

Additionally, ultrasound of the peritoneum and kidneys is performed. This diagnosis excludes organic pathology. If the tests are ineffective, additional consultation with an allergist is required.

Therapies

Regardless of the cause of diarrhea, gynecologists advise preventing dehydration during pregnancy. For this, it is recommended to drink up to 3.5 liters of water.

You can use the ready-made saline solution Regidron. Rice broth is additionally boiled.

If you are pregnant with diarrhea, you should not give up on proper nutrition. It will normalize the functioning of the intestines and stomach.

If the expectant mother does not have the opportunity to consult a doctor, then any medication is drunk after studying the instructions.

During pregnancy, which proceeds with diarrhea, it is recommended to drink adsorbents. Medicines of this pharmacological group are the first aid for diarrhea.

With their help, toxins from the intestines are adsorbed, intoxication is removed during pregnancy.

Activated carbon is considered a harmless adsorbent drug. It can even be given to babies. Other effective means of similar action include Smecta, Enterosgel, Lactofiltrum.

The latter drugs have a better effect than Activated Carbon. Smecta during pregnancy is a safe product that is sold as a powder with a vanilla taste and smell. The powder is dissolved in a glass of water.

It is recommended to take 1 sachet three times a day. Smecta therapy during pregnancy should not last more than 3 days. Against the background of uncontrolled intake of the drug, constipation is provoked.

With the help of Smecta, not only the collection of toxins is carried out, but also an enveloping and strengthening effect on the entire body of a woman. Adsorbents are not absorbed into the bloodstream without affecting the fetus.

With chronic gastrointestinal disease during pregnancy, various problems with stool may occur. To recover, you will need to drink an enzyme, including Mezim, Pancreatin.

Taking such drugs during pregnancy is carried out after adjusting the diet. Against the background of a reduced function of the pancreas, fats are not able to break down, provoking diarrhea.

Taking other medications to eliminate diarrhea during pregnancy should be monitored by the attending gynecologist. Loose stools can indicate a serious illness, including a miscarriage.

If the symptom in question is provoked by E. coli, antibiotics are required. This therapy should be prescribed and carried out under the supervision of a therapist and gynecologist.

Throughout therapy, it is necessary to monitor the main indicators of urine, blood and feces. If the condition worsens, the pregnant woman is hospitalized if the infectious process is mild.

If a similar clinic is complex or protracted, then therapy is carried out in a hospital setting. Simultaneously with taking antibiotics, a course of taking probiotics and prebiotics is shown.

With their help, the pregnant woman will be able to quickly restore the microflora of the damaged intestine.

Since infection can provoke serious complications, therefore, the decision to terminate or maintain pregnancy is decided by doctors individually before starting therapy.

Preventive techniques

In the first trimester of gestation, gynecologists advise preventing various diseases, including diarrhea. For this, it is recommended to remember and follow the rules of hygiene.

At the same time, pregnant women should drink vitamins prescribed by the attending gynecologist. Particular attention is paid to the amount of folic acid consumed.

Also, pregnant women must comply with all rules for handling and storing food.
