Mikospor is an effective remedy for the treatment of onychomycosis. It helps to solve not only the external problems of the nail fungus, but also to eliminate the cause of its development. We invite you to learn more about the drug.

Composition, release form and price
Mycospore is a topical drug. Its main component is bifonazole, which has a wide spectrum of action, including fungicidal, for this reason, most strains of mycosis are unstable to its influence.
The drug is produced in the form of an ointment, cream and solution.
Mikospor cream is available in 15 ml tubes. 100 g of the drug contain:
- 1 g of bifonazole;
- 10 g stearyl alcohol;
- 13 g octyldodecanol;
- 3 g cetyl palmitate;
- distilled water.
The cost of the cream is 420-500 rubles in Russian pharmacies and from 45 hryvnia in Ukrainian.
Mikospor ointment is available in 10 ml tubes. In addition to it, there is a set, which includes a dispenser for effective application of the medication, 15 special plasters and a spatula for removing the tissues of the treated nail. 100 g of the drug contain:
- 1 g of bifonazole;
- 40 g of urea;
- 34 g of petroleum jelly;
- 20 g lanolin;
- 5 g of beeswax.
The cost of such a set is 1200-1300 rubles in Russia and 598 hryvnia in Ukraine.
The Mikospor solution is available in the form of a liquid in 15 ml vials equipped with a dropper device. 100 g of the drug contain:
- 1 g of bifonazole;
- 50 g isopropyl myristate;
- 30 g ethanol.
The cost of Mikospor solution is 530 rubles in Russia and from 37 hryvnia in Ukraine.
Unlike solution and cream, Mikospor ointment has a more aggressive effect in relation to onychomycosis, since it contains urea. Therefore, it is most often recommended for nail fungus.
pharmachologic effect
Mycospore has a pronounced fungicidal activity. Bifonazole destroys the causative agents of onychomycosis that affect the skin and nails of a person. Infectious agents resistant to Mycospore are practically not found. In addition, after using the drug, addiction does not form to its active ingredients.
According to experts, Mikospor begins to act immediately after being applied to the lesions, while the maximum therapeutic effect will be observed within the next six hours.
Compared with other antimycotic drugs, bifonazole inhibits the production of ergosterol in the cytoplasm pathogens of fungal infection in two directions at once, as a result of which microorganisms are destroyed faster by cellular level.
Indications
Mikospor ointment is used to combat onychomycosis with the aim of non-surgical removal of nails infected with the fungus, and the simultaneous provision of antimycotic care.
Mikospor cream and solution are used to treat skin infections. These include:
- mycoses of the hands and feet;
- candidiasis;
- pityriasis versicolor;
- dermatophytosis of the body.
Instructions for use
Instructions for use for various forms of the drug Mikospor will be individual in each case. Let's consider it in more detail.
Application of the solution. The liquid form of the drug is applied in a small amount to the foci of infection once a day (usually 3-4 drops of the medication are enough for a single treatment). The product is perfectly absorbed, thanks to the ethyl alcohol in its composition, and starts working almost instantly. Therefore, Mikospor solution is usually recommended for acute forms of the disease, which are characterized by local inflammatory reactions. After the symptoms subside, it is necessary to switch to the drug in the form of a cream.
Application of the cream. It is used for therapeutic and prophylactic skin treatment once a day, mainly before bedtime. A small amount of the product is gently rubbed into the dermis, ensuring its complete absorption. Once in the deep layers of the treated surface, the drug retains its maximum therapeutic effect for the next 72 hours.

Given this fact, one should not get carried away with the amount of applied cream - for one treatment, it is enough to squeeze 0.5 cm out of the tube medication, otherwise, there is a possibility of an overdose of the drug and face unpleasant side effects reactions.
Using the ointment and kit. As mentioned above, this form of release of the drug contains urea, which makes it more effective against nail fungus. Thus, the treatment becomes complex. Urea softens the treated tissue, allowing bifonazole to penetrate deeper. At the same time, it enhances its therapeutic activity. In combination, the listed factors help to destroy the causative agents of onychomycosis in such deep tissues where other medications cannot penetrate.
Mikospor ointment is applied exclusively to the lesions. If the drug gets on a healthy nail, of course, nothing bad will happen, but urea can cause irritation. Therefore, it is advisable to apply the drug only to "diseased" surfaces.
In the process of detachment of damaged tissues, cleaning of the nail is required. Scraping with a special scraper can be unpleasant and even painful, as the sensitive area of the bed is exposed. To reduce discomfort, it is sealed with a plaster from the kit, after which healthy tissue grows rather quickly.
How to treat with Mikospor ointment:
- Steam feet or hands in a basin of hot water for 15 minutes.
- Dry the limbs with a towel and a scraper from the set, clean the surface of the nail plates from softened tissues with gentle but decisive movements.
- Apply a thin layer of ointment to the treated foci of onychomycosis.
- Cover the nail with a plaster; for convenience, you can cut a piece out of it according to the size of the treated surface.
- After 24 hours, repeat all the manipulations again.

The set with Mikospor ointment can be used for 14 days. This time is enough to completely remove loose areas of the nail. Then it is recommended to continue the treatment with the cream.
Use in children, pregnant and lactating
Consider whether it is possible to use the drug Mikospor to combat onychomycosis in children and women during breastfeeding and waiting for the baby in the table.
| States, features | Can I apply? |
|---|---|
| PREGNANCY | Bifonazole, with local treatment with Mikospor, is absorbed into the systemic circulation only slightly, therefore it does not have a negative effect on the body of the mother and fetus. But, despite this, the drug is prescribed on the condition that the potential benefit for the woman is higher than the risk for the unborn child. |
| LACTATION | There is no evidence that bifonazole passes into breast milk. Therefore, Mikospor is prescribed during this period, as in the case of pregnant women, extremely rarely. |
| CHILDHOOD | There have been no studies on the effect of the drug on children. But on the basis of the clinical data obtained, they did not have any adverse reactions when using Mikospor. Thus, the agent is approved for use in children from one year of age. |
Contraindications and side effects
The drug is used externally, so the list of prohibitions to it is small. These include:
- individual intolerance to individual components of the product;
- children's age up to one year.
Most often, Mycospore, used for nail fungus, is well tolerated. Only occasionally do side effects occur, such as irritation of the skin around the nail, associated with urea aggression. This situation is reversible, after the cancellation of the funds, it goes away without additional intervention.
Analogs and drugs with similar action
Mikospor has a structural substitute at a lower price - Bifosin. It also contains bifonazole. The drug has several forms of release: powder, cream, spray and solution. But he, unlike Mikospor, is not sold in ready-made kits, therefore, improvised means for processing the nail plates will have to be obtained on your own. The cost of Bifosin cream is 100 rubles in Russia and 60 hryvnia in Ukraine.
There are also drugs with a similar therapeutic effect, like that of Mikospora. Let's list them:
- LAMISIL. The main component is terbinafine. The drug has a wide spectrum of antifungal activity and practically does not enter the systemic blood flow, which allows it to be used to combat onychomycosis in women during lactation and pregnancy, and children. The price of Lamisil cream in a 15 ml package is 900 rubles in Russia and 95 hryvnia in Ukraine.
- EXODERIL. The active ingredient is naftifine. The drug is used externally, has a pronounced fungicidal and anti-inflammatory effects. It is prescribed for various mycotic infections, including onychomycosis. The cost of 30 ml Exoderil cream in Russia is 850 rubles, in Ukraine - 148 hryvnia.
