The diet for pancreatitis is aimed at facilitating the work of the two largest glands of the human body: the pancreas and the liver.

During the diet, you need to eat more protein and reduce the proportion of fat and carbohydrates in your diet. Especially strongly limited sugar, because this product is completely composed of carbohydrates.

A diet for inflammation of the pancreas prohibits eating fried foods and foods containing many coarse dietary fiber. To eat should be 5-6 times a day, in small portions.

Food should enter the stomach in a warm form. During a diet it is useful to take multivitamins and complexes of minerals.

Pancreatitis can occur in acute and chronic form. In the acute form of the disease requires a much more strict diet than with chronic.

Why should meals be special during pancreatitis? The fact is that the inflammation of the pancreas leads to cardinal disorders of the digestive process, the body ceases to cope with digestion and assimilation of conventional dishes.

Changes in the digestive tract accompanying pancreatitis:

  • inside the small intestine changes pH - the environment becomes more acidic;
  • makes it difficult for the outflow of enzymes from the PJ, they start to be produced in less than necessary quantities;
  • accumulates toxins in the liver;
  • is disrupted insulin production, resulting in violations of carbohydrate metabolism.

With such serious changes, the body needs a special menu. The therapeutic diet significantly increases the patient's chances of a full recovery.

After discharge from the hospital, you must continue to follow the diet until the attending physician allows you to return to the usual menu.

Inflammation of the pancreas

But even then, there will remain some restrictions in the diet, which will have to be observed until the end of life.

The diet for inflammation of the pancreas is easy to follow, as it includes the simplest products, not burdensome for the budget, just changing the way they are cooked.

You can eat only steamed, boiled or baked products.

At the first time after discharge from the hospital, the foods should be crushed thoroughly: rub through a sieve or whisk in a blender.

This is done to ease the burden on the stomach, because, in addition to the liver, this organ also suffers from inflammation of the prostate.

The right diet allows you to get rid of diseases not only of the pancreas. It is no less useful for the stomach, liver and intestines.

During and after pancreatitis, all the organs of the digestive tract need a gentle mode of operation, since the pancreas can no longer produce the necessary amount of enzymes, and the digestion process is greatly hampered.

Exemplary menu

Treatment for acute pancreatitis implies complete starvation in the first days after the disease.

In the future, if the disease becomes chronic, it is also recommended that one-day fasting with any hint of pain return - so you can stop a new attack of the disease.

When you leave the hospital, the doctor will give detailed recommendations regarding when, how much and what you can eat with pancreatitis.

You can create your own menu, adhering to these tips, and you can use the ready-made menus, borrowing them from the already developed diets.

The easiest way to use one of the diets developed by the Soviet dietician and gastroenterologist Professor Pevzner.

What can and can not be?

Pevzner has developed fifteen so-called therapeutic tables, in which an exemplary menu is painted for each disease, including pancreatitis.

In diseases of the liver, diet No. 5 is recommended, and in case of chronic pancreatitis diet No. 5a is recommended. They are almost the same, if you want, you can use either of them.

Let's take a closer look at the diet number 5a. According to her, you can eat 5 times a day, all food should be served warmly.

The following products are recommended:

  • bread: from wheat, dried in the oven or yesterday;
  • meat products: steamed boiled meat from non-fat beef, rabbit meat, chicken without skin;
  • fish: jellied on vegetable broth, low-fat cooked, cutlet mass;
  • eggs: an omelet made from proteins and no more than one egg yolk per day;
  • milk: skimmed milk, mashed or steamed fresh fat-free curd, sour cream, fresh cheese;

The diet excludes foods and dishes that cause a strong secretion of glands and increased secretion of digestive juices.

Prohibited products

Treatment for acute pancreatitis is medicamentous and surgical, and the diet in the package of therapeutic measures plays a supporting role.

Treatment of chronic inflammation of the pancreas by 90% consists of a diet. Proper nutrition plays a huge role in maintaining the prostate and liver in a working condition.

If a person has symptoms of chronic inflammation, then he can not eat many of the usual foods and dishes.

Sometimes it is difficult to tolerate such restrictions in the menu, but for the sake of the health of the two glands - the pancreas and the liver - all the requirements of the diet must be carefully observed, otherwise the symptoms will appear again.

So, here are the products that can not be eaten with pancreatitis:

  • You can not eat pork, lamb, fish of fatty varieties, caviar and canned fish;
  • you can not eat freshly baked and black bread such as "Borodinsky";
  • it is impossible to eat mushrooms, cruciferous vegetables, including cabbage;
  • you can not eat cheese of hard varieties, cream, acidified curd;
  • you can not drink drinks from coffee and cocoa, soda and any cold liquids.

With any form of pancreatic inflammation, alcoholic beverages and fast food( fast food) are absolutely forbidden: donuts, potatoes, shaurma, etc.

Fast food is always too fatty, as it is cooked deep-fried or from cheap meat of fatty varieties.

If you use prohibited products, then the symptoms of a chronic or acute inflammation will return very quickly, and the treatment will have to be started anew.

  1. symptoms of chronic pancreatitis: pulling pain in the left hypochondrium, nausea, vomiting, bitterness in the mouth due to abnormalities in liver function;
  2. symptoms of acute pancreatitis: severe abdominal pain, vomiting, not bringing relief, increased temperature, chills, increased blood pressure.

Acute inflammation should be distinguished from exacerbation of chronic. Acute inflammation of the pancreas occurs for the first time, and then it goes into a chronic form, which can worsen due to diet disorders.

After holidays and public holidays, especially many patients enter the hospital who need treatment for acute inflammation of the pancreas or treatment of chronic inflammation during the exacerbation phase.
