What happens if I exceed the salt tolerance?

Surely many noticed that after drinking salty you want to drink heavily. So the body tries to get rid of the overabundance of sodium and chlorine, sending signals to the brain about thirst. A person intensively absorbs water, forcing the kidneys and the cardiovascular system to work more intensively. And the salt does not appear until the end, which contributes to the retention of water in the body.

Salt promotes the preservation of water in blood vessels and the preservation of fluid where it is not necessary: in the tissues surrounding the vessels.

To cope with excess fluid, the heart should be pumping harder, squeezing your muscles harder to fill additional volume. In the end, this can lead to constant increased pressure, heart muscle overload, chest pains, heart attacks, the need for coronary bypass, kidney failure and sudden death from cardiac arrest.

CONSEQUENCES OF SALVAGE OF SALT FOR MEN:

  • Swelling. Excess NaCl provokes water retention in the body. With prolonged water retention, it begins to penetrate more from the vessels into the intercellular space, thereby creating an edema of the surrounding tissues.
  • Hypertension - high blood pressure. Hypertension is one of the violations of the cardiovascular system, to the diseases of which men are so inclined. The cause of hypertension development is fluid retention in the body and increased cardiac output.
  • Increased stress on the heart. With high blood pressure, the heart works in a strengthened mode, pumping more blood and overcoming the increased tension in the vessels, which is fraught with its premature wear and weakening.
  • Decreased testosterone production. Absolutely proven fact is a decrease in the male sex hormone after salt intake. Therefore, at the first signs of androgen deficiency, first of all, it is necessary to reduce the amount of salt consumed.
  • Increased risk of developing gastric cancer. This conclusion was reached by Japanese scientists after studies in which men and women took part. It should be noted that the risk of developing gastric cancer due to an overabundance of salt increased in men - women in this regard were stronger.

HOW MUCH DOES SALT ARE NEEDED BY THE MALE ORGANISM?

The daily salt norm for a male body is no more than 2 grams. It should be noted that the salt is not only that pinch of white powder, which is sprinkled with food, also NaCl is in food, only in another, organic form.

Table 1 - List of products containing NaCl

Products containing salt

As can be seen from Table 1, a sufficient amount of sodium and chlorine salts found in food, which eliminates the need for abundant food salting. In addition, the salt, which we are so used to, is not an organic mineral and is absorbed by the body partially( about 5%), which makes it inappropriate to get a daily rate of NaCl from the usual edible salt.

WHAT SALIUS IS THE SAME USEFUL?

Buyers can purchase at least two kinds of salt, which differ from each other in the technologies of extraction, processing and composition of the product.

Black salt. As a result of roasting, the black salt is deprived of the impurities of heavy metals that are present in the common salt. Also, the black salt contains useful substances: magnesium, iodine, potassium, calcium, activated carbon. It is noted that this salt delays less water in the body.

Sea salt. Perhaps the most useful type of salt, as it is a completely natural product and contains many necessary for our body minerals and trace elements.

Rock salt( halite). This is a salt of gray color that does not undergo technological processing, due to which it preserves all useful substances. In times of lack of technological progress, unrefined rock salt was the most common type of salt used in cooking.

Whatever useful substances did not contain salt, remember that the basis of its composition is NaCl, an excess of which is harmful to the body. Therefore, the use of increased amounts of salt to replenish nutrients in the body is unacceptable.

Cookery( extra) salt. The usual and most common salt that people are used to seeing on their desks. It is the least useful kind of salt from all, since its composition does not contain any useful substances, and contains various impurities to impart a presentation. From the use of this type of salt should be discarded.

To salt or not to salt - that is the question!

Try to reduce salt intake as much as possible. The salt-cellar on the table should become a relic of the past as a bobbin tape recorder or typewriter. Whosoever is engaged in cooking at home, you need to use as few substances containing sodium( soda, salt).

The sodium salts contained in foodstuffs must be the only source of this element.

To improve the taste, use salt substitutes, seasonings, herbs or simply peppers - this does not affect blood pressure. Forget about fast food establishments, do not eat chips, pretzels and sauces. Avoid them! In addition, pay attention to the packages with the inscription "reduced fat content", in most cases such products are made with the addition of salt, in order to improve the taste.

Your body will get used to consuming less salt! When you start to follow a diet with low salt content, it will not be easy. Yes, salt gives taste, making the dish appetizing. First you will come to despondency from how tasteless your food has become. But after a couple of weeks, the body and taste buds will adapt to a new amount of salt consumed. You will only need to stick to it and not deceive yourself.

Get rid of salt sources. If possible, avoid: fast food products, fish in canned food, soup concentrates, canned vegetables, a variety of sauces, salty snacks, soy sauces, frozen semi-finished products.
