Treatment of secretory form of male infertility

Today, effective surgical treatment of such causes of male infertility as:

  • dropsy;
  • cryptorchidism;
  • varicocele.

After the surgical intervention, normalization of the processes of secretion and maturation of spermatozoa is observed. However, one should not expect immediate improvement in the sperm count in the early postoperative period. As a rule, the increase in reproductive capacity occurs within three months. It is this period that is necessary for the maturation of a sufficient number of full-fledged spermatozoa.

Treatment of the secretory form of infertility, caused by damage to the testicles by mumps virus, ionizing radiation, toxic substances is more difficult. In this case, in order to achieve a successful outcome, it is necessary to resort to the use of assisted reproductive technologies.

Treatment of obturation form of male infertility

Restoration of patency of the vas deferens is successfully carried out using the following modern surgical interventions:

  • vasoepididystomy;
  • vasovazostomiya;
  • transurethral resection of the prostate.

If after the operative treatment the result was not achieved or infertility is caused by the presence of serious anatomical abnormalities, for example, congenital atresia of the vas deferens, the tactic of choice is the use of various techniques for extracting spermatozoa. Procedures TESE, MESA, PESA allow to obtain a sufficient number of spermatozoa for fertilization with a minimal risk to the health of men.

Treatment of an autoimmune form of male infertility

One of the most difficult tasks of reproductology is the treatment of an autoimmune form of male infertility. In this case, there is a certain degree of immunological incompatibility of partners, which causes an extremely low probability of conception and subsequent survival of the embryo.

However, in this case, medicine can come to the aid of married couples. In addition to immunocorrecting techniques in the treatment of autoimmune infertility, various auxiliary reproductive technologies are actively used. Thanks to the special preparation of sperm for IVF, it is possible to successfully fertilize in the laboratory and select the most viable embryos.

Auxiliary reproductive technologies

Such assisted reproductive technologies as intrauterine insemination by sperm of the husband, in vitro fertilization using the ICSI method are a method of choice in the treatment of severe forms of male infertility. After the preparatory stage, which consists in obtaining the patient's spermatozoa naturally or through surgical manipulation and the partners' eggs, there are all chances of creating viable embryos.

The success of IVF depends on the health of the couple, the professionalism of the specialists and the quality of the equipment used. In some cases, more than one IVF procedure is required to achieve a positive result.
