click fraud protection

Testicular cancer is a malignant formation in the male genital glands located in the scrotum. In life, this disease is rare, but recently, testicular cancer has become increasingly common among young men under 40 years of age.

Testicular cancer is a very aggressive tumor, which doubles every 10-30 days. Thanks to innovative technologies and the rapid development of medicine, the death toll from this disease is minimal today.

Symptoms of the disease

When a testicular cancer develops, the patient usually complains of an accidentally detected compaction, nodule or swelling on the testicle, which, as a rule, does not cause discomfort, but may be accompanied by a slight feeling of heaviness or a constant dull pain in the lower abdomen. When the form of the disease is started, acute pain may periodically appear. During the initial examination, the attending physician draws attention to cryptorchidism, possible testicular injuries, chronic epididymitis, the presence of causeless weight loss of the patient or fever.

Treatment of testicular cancer

There is no single-valued method in the treatment of testicular cancer in Israel, due to the fact that oncology of the testicles is very rare. But the treatment of cancer and other malignant lesions of the testicles, as a rule, is complex, combined with surgical intervention, radiation and chemotherapy. And the quality of the treatment is largely dependent on:

  • timely diagnosis of testicular cancer;
  • radical removal of the primary disease focus;
  • prompt preoperative tumor irradiation;
  • removal of regional lymph nodes;
  • for quality postoperative chemotherapy.

The first stage of treatment for testicular cancer is an orchiectomy, during which the testicle, along with its seminal cord, is removed through the incision made into the groin. Along with a damaged testicle, it is also possible to remove lymph nodes located nearby in the abdominal cavity. In this case, the removal of the testicle in no way affects the sexual abilities of men and their reproductive capacity. Further treatment depends on the histological state of the tumor, the stage of the disease and the significance of tumor markers.

After the procedure of orchiectomy, the hormonal background in the patient's body is normalized. In most cases, after the surgery, chemoradiotherapy is performed to destroy cancer cells that may have remained in the body.

It is difficult to predict anything with the diagnosis of testicular cancer, the success of the treatment is influenced by the phase of the disease and the histological structure of the neoplasm itself.
