In addition, the fig is an excellent immunostimulating agent, therefore it is an excellent preventive against colds in the autumn-winter period. But whether it is possible to use it or him at a pancreatitis and in what kind: fresh, dried or boiled?

What is the danger?

The fig contains many useful elements:

  • sodium;
  • potassium;
  • unsaturated organic acids;
  • unsaturated fatty acids;
  • proteins;
  • fats;
  • vitamins of various groups;
  • cellulose and much more.

However, despite its composition, the figs in pancreatitis are strictly prohibited, as it contains a lot of carbohydrates and sugars, the use of which in this disease should be minimized. Because their cleavage requires insulin, the development of which may be impaired. And if you ignore this, then in the "bonus" you can get more and diabetes.

In addition, the coarse fiber contained in this berry can provoke abdominal distension and pain, which can lead to serious complications in pancreatitis. And slit acid can cause inflammation in the pancreas, which should be avoided with all the forces.

Another very important point. The fruits of a fig tree are very caloric. A total of 100 grams of the product accounted for more than 250 kcal. And in order to avoid complications in the form of diabetes mellitus, pancreatitis requires strict counting of calorie intake, eating food and adhering to certain dietary rules.

Dried figs

It is strictly prohibited to eat figs in dried form with pancreatitis in the same way as in fresh form, even after it has been soaked for a long time.

It is also not recommended to drink drinks and eat dishes containing this berry( even in a small dose) with an acute manifestation of pancreatitis, at least until the moment the main symptoms of the disease abate.

What can I do in the period of remission?

The use of figs in pancreatitis is undesirable even during the period of remission of the disease, as this can provoke complications or pain attacks that could endanger the life of the patient.

With pancreatitis during the period of remission, you can drink only compotes that have been prepared from the collection of various fruits and berries. However, the content of this particular berries in them should not exceed more than 15%, and in this case the flesh of the berries should in no case fall into the drink.

Before consumption, compote must be filtered to prevent the ingestion of fig tree fruit into the stomach. Adding honey, sugar and other sweeteners to the drink is strictly forbidden, since figs already contain a lot of sugar.
