Demodectic eye
Demodectic is a skin disease caused by tick-parasites of the genus Demodex. The disease is localized, usually on the skin of the face, as well as on the eyelids. Demodecosis is most often found in patients with immune system disorders, hormonal disorders, gastrointestinal diseases.

In nature, at room temperature, sufficient humidity and without bright light, demodex can live up to 9 days. The most suitable temperature for its life is 30-40 ° C. Demodex is an insect no larger than 0.4 mm. Females lay eggs in human or animal hair follicles, after which they die. After 60 hours, larvae appear from the eggs. Weakened immunity, the presence of chronic infections( gastritis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, etc.), hormonal disorders or gastrointestinal diseases create favorable conditions for the rapid multiplication of demodex and the development of demodecosis. The most frequently affected areas of the skin are the nose, cheeks, chin, nasolabial fold.
Demodicosis is transmitted from person to person by contact, as well as through household items: underwear, clothing, etc.
