Allergic rhinitis and methods of its prevention
Allergic rhinitis (or simply "runny nose") is an inflammation of the mucous tissues of the nose, which is triggered by exposure to allergens.

The main manifestations are sneezing, itching in the nose and difficulty in nasal breathing.
The erroneous common assumption that allergic runny nose occurs only in the warm season and exclusively in the form of a reaction to plant pollen, therefore, calling a therapist at home can be postponed. The disease has a year-round course and is a sensitive reaction to epidermal and household allergens.
Often, rhinitis occurs along with conjunctivitis, and in 30-60% of cases it is a complication in the course of atopic bronchial asthma.
As a rule, competent therapy allows you to quickly get rid of allergic rhinitis, but in the case of a chronic disease, you should resort to disease prevention:
- Regularly carry out wet cleaning of premises;
- If possible, exclude interaction with allergens that provoke the onset of symptoms;
- Avoid being in dusty, cluttered places;
- Avoid tobacco smoke and strong odors.
Careful adherence to these measures will reduce the manifestation of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and, as a result, reduce the need for medications.
Prevention of ARVI
It should be noted that viral colds usually heal within 1-2 weeks. However, immunocompromised children are at risk of developing bacterial complications. Risk factors for recurrent respiratory diseases and complicated course of colds in children include: unfavorable living conditions, low level of social and sanitary culture in the family, stressful situations in family. It is difficult to avoid colds. Advice for the epidemic period to be less in public with the modern rhythm of life is difficult to fulfill. Nevertheless, visiting any public institution significantly increases the risk of infection. Therefore, during epidemics, try to contact as few people as possible. Especially if you have a small child in your house.
Currently, the most effective method of preventing ARVI in children is active specific immunization. However, with regard to ARVI, its capabilities are limited to immunization only against influenza. For pre-vaccination preparation of frequently ill children, it is recommended to use various immunomodulatory agents (interferon preparations, inducers of endogenous interferon). One of the drugs that combine antiviral and immunomodulatory properties is Influcid, which consists of herbal and mineral components in homeopathic dilutions.
Homeopathic medicines are able to gently stimulate all the body's defenses (see. (See also “Treatment of cough in children with folk remedies”). Thanks to this ability, they facilitate the course of the disease without causing side effects. Complex homeopathic medicines have been successfully used for many decades for various diseases. The result of the action of antiviral immunomodulatory drugs is a decrease in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections, as well as the prevention of the development of secondary immunodeficiency in frequently ill children.
