The drug is used on an empty stomach (lavage is used) if you want to eliminate the symptoms of dehydration. The stomach is washed with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. After Rehydron, patients notice an improvement in well-being, the disappearance of pain and the cessation of diarrhea in a short time.

For adults

In adults, the drug fights poisoning and various types of bowel disorders. The sack is diluted in 1 liter of water. For the first 10 hours, a suspension is taken in an amount equal to the amount of lost moisture. To combat acute conditions, the dose of the drug is correspondingly increased.

Take 100 g after each vomiting or diarrhea attack. The dosage is selected individually. On average, for 1 kg of a person's weight, there are 600-800 ml of solution drunk within an hour.

There are no age restrictions for taking Rehydron. The remedy is prescribed for infants and adults. Children under one year old are prescribed medication by a pediatrician.

The first releases of the product contained sodium in smaller quantities than analogues and modern Regidron, which made it possible to water infants without restrictions. Doctors advise modern Rehydron to be diluted in containers with a water content of 1.5 liters.

For children of different ages, there is a certain distribution of the amount of solution drunk:

A pregnant woman is supposed to be careful when taking medications and listen to her own body more often. With diarrhea, the loss of salt and moisture threatens the health of the unborn baby and mom. Rehydron's solution is not contraindicated during this period.

It is necessary to follow the instructions and recommendations of the doctor so that the drug intake remains effective and safe. During a crucial period, pregnant women, due to weakened immunity, often suffer from intestinal disorders. Restoring the balance of water and electrolytes becomes a top priority. Other medications cannot be taken, Regidron comes to the rescue.

Interaction with other drugs

Treatment of childhood diarrhea or diarrhea in an adult is not limited to taking Rehydron. There is a need to use several drugs at once.

The rehydration solution does not react directly with other medications. Difficulty arises with medications, which require the presence of a certain acid-base balance in the intestine. In this case, it is worth consulting with your doctor on how best to proceed. Perhaps the doctor will cancel the medicine or suggest an analogue.

When to see a doctor

Regidron is not a panacea for diarrhea. There are situations when the home treatment option is not suitable and there is a need for medical assistance.

  • Diarrhea does not go away within 3 days, despite the therapeutic measures taken.
  • Stool contains blood, pus, or mucus.
  • An upset bowel movement causes the body temperature to rise to a fever.
  • Acute diarrhea, the stool is watery, the patient suffers from vomiting and nausea.

Pay special attention to a small child who has severe debilitating diarrhea and vomiting. With profuse bowel movements and the appearance of symptoms of dehydration, immediate hospitalization and qualified assistance are required.

A similar rule applies to older people. Dehydration in old age can be fatal!

Additional drug options

Rehydron helps not only with disorders caused by intestinal infections. Rehydration solution helps with ailments:

  • Abuse of alcoholic beverages, as a result of intoxication of the body.
  • Binge eating.
