Rules for the selection and administration of antibiotics

Antibiotics for intestinal colitis cannot be used alone. Initially, such medicines can be used for inflammation and the appearance of pathogenic bacteria.

All intestinal infections are divided into 3 types:

  1. Bacterial.
  2. Viral.
  3. Parasitic.

Most often, colitis occurs from bacterial parasites from the Shigella and Salmonella families. There is another nature of the development of pathology, which the doctor can find out during the diagnosis.

Before using antibacterial agents, it is imperative to conduct an examination and determine the exact cause of colitis.

Among the basic rules for the use of antibiotics are the following:

  1. Any antibacterial properties disrupt the intestinal flora, and additional medications must be used to restore and maintain it. It is recommended to drink Colibacterin or Nystatin.
  2. If side effects occur as a result of the use of antibiotics, they should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted.
  3. If swelling, bleeding occurs while taking colitis medications, an ambulance should be called.
  4. For ulcerative colitis, antibacterial agents are often not used because they have poor results.
  5. Colitis can occur when other diseases are treated with antibiotics. In this case, long-term use should be stopped and immediately consult a doctor to normalize the intestinal flora.
