Pectoris Toad Disease

The name "angina pectoris" got its name in the past because during the attack a person starts to gasp for air and sometimes makes croaking sounds. Nowadays, this disease is called angina pectoris. It is almost the most common in the world.

Angina is dangerous both in itself and its possible consequences. Thoracic toad is one of the most terrible manifestations of ischemic disease. The chain of consequences is as follows: heart ischemia is most often manifested by angina pectoris, angina leads to myocardial infarction, heart attack is the cause of mass mortality in many countries of the world. Unfortunately, Russia is no exception. Most risky older men who are overweight.

Symptoms of angina

Pain in "chest toad" is always characterized by the following characteristics: 1) always has the nature of an attack, with a clearly pronounced onset of occurrence and the exact time of cessation, subsiding;2) occurs when certain conditions are created, in certain circumstances;3) begins to subside or terminate under the influence of taking nitroglycerin. Conditions for the appearance of angina attacks: walking( pain when accelerating movements, with a long climb uphill, with a strong headwind, with fast walking after eating), a different physical effort, or a strong emotional strain. The conditionality of pain by physical effort is manifested in the fact that during their continuation or increase, the intensity of pain increases simultaneously. When the efforts stop, the pain subsides or disappears completely after a few minutes.

Diagnosis of the disease

It is possible to recognize this disease most often at the very first visit to the doctor. To reject this diagnosis, it will be necessary to monitor the course of the disease and constantly analyze the patient's examination data. A number of the following symptoms complement the clinical characteristics of angina pectoris, but their absence can not exclude this diagnosis. The localization of pain behind the breastbone( it is most typical), less often - in the neck, teeth and lower jaw, in the hands, in the scapula( more often on the left), directly in the heart. Pressing nature of pain, less often - burning( similar to heartburn) or a feeling in the chest of a foreign body. The patient can sometimes experience not painful, but as it were a pulling sensation in the chest. Then he denies having the actual pain. Simultaneously with the attack, the blood pressure rises, the pallor of the integument arises, the fluctuation in the pulse rate, the sweating, the appearance of extrasystoles. All these signs characterize the angina of tension.

A thorough medical questioning determines the timeliness and correctness of the diagnosis of "pectoral toad".Often the patient, experiencing the typical sensations for angina pectoris, does not inform the doctor about them, thinking that they "do not refer to the heart".Or, on the contrary, focuses on the diagnostically secondary unpleasant sensations "in the heart".In contrast to angina pectoris, restless stenocardia occurs regardless of physical effort, most often at night. In the rest, it retains all the features of an attack of the angina pectoris, accompanied by a sensation of suffocation, lack of air.

In most patients, the course of the disease is relatively stable. By this is meant some prescription of the appearance of signs of the disease, attacks of which changed little over the given period in frequency and strength. They always come under the same conditions, are absent without these conditions and die down in conditions of rest( with angina pectoris) or immediately after taking nitroglycerin. The degree of intensity of stable angina is defined by the so-called functional class( or FC).For example, I patients are those with stable angina developing in the form of rare attacks caused only by excessive physical exertion. If attacks of angina arise and with lighter loads, then such a stenocardia physicians refer to II FK.In the case of attacks at the lowest loads - to III FC.The degree of IV FK is fixed in patients with seizures, even with minimal loads, and sometimes even with their complete absence.

Treatment of angina

A sharp attack of angina is always necessary to stop. Such a disease is quite dangerous, its treatment should be carried out exclusively under the supervision of specialists, in a hospital. Treatment of the disease is aimed at achieving several main goals: maximum reduction in the risk of myocardial infarction, normalization of the overall quality of life. Getting rid of periodic attacks of angina pectoris in itself implies a refusal to smoke, a strict diet, optimal physical activity, control of blood pressure.
