Sorbent application

Activated carbon is a plant substance of porous consistency. It has an absorbent, detoxifying effect. When it enters the body, the drug is not absorbed into the bloodstream, its action begins directly in the intestines. It provokes the production of gases, removes them in a natural way. After taking the medicine, black feces are noted, this is normal. It indicates that the sorbent is completely eliminated from the body.

What is the correct way to take with flatulence?

Sorbent release form - tablets. The weight of one tablet varies from 250 to 500 mg, depending on the manufacturer. It is recommended to take carbolene for flatulence and bloating, 1-3 tablets every 5-6 hours.

In case of food poisoning, the number of tablets is calculated based on the weight of a person: 1 tablet per 1 kg of weight. Taking the medication begins immediately, only after noticing the first symptoms. The tablets are washed down with plenty of water, you do not need to chew them.

The cause of flatulence is severe intoxication, you can wash the stomach with a solution of activated carbon. It is required to crush the tablets into powder, mix with water: for 1 liter of water - 1 teaspoon of powder. Drink the solution every 5-10 minutes until vomiting appears.

Use pills against flatulence more than 5 days is not recommended. If there is no improvement in the condition, bloating is accompanied by pain, discomfort, a doctor's consultation is required. The medication should be suspended. Flatulence and bloating are symptoms of serious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Activated carbon tablets

To eliminate symptoms, it is recommended to use the sorbent according to the plan:

  1. The first day - drink 4 tablets (one 4 times a day).
  2. The second day - increase the number of pills taken to 2 per dose, but not more than 8 per day.
  3. The third day - drink 3 tablets at a time, but not more than 4 times. The remaining two days are taken in the same way.

After completing the course of taking carbolene, it is recommended to drink minerals and vitamins.

Carbolen neutralizes gastric juice well, eliminating increased acidity. In this case, it is advised to use charcoal mixed with flower honey in a ratio of 1: 2. Apply 2 hours before meals, 2-3 times a day. The daily dose of the drug is 150 grams.

Side effect

If activated carbon is used correctly, in accordance with the instructions, it will not harm the body. Minor side effects:

  • Short-term disturbance of stool, manifested in constipation or diarrhea.
  • Stool staining black.

In rare cases, taking the drug is accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

Long-term use in the treatment of flatulence leads to vitamin deficiency. The consequence of the action of coal - together with harmful substances, it also flushes out useful microelements that do not have time to be absorbed into the intestinal walls. Disruption of water and salt balance is possible.

It is undesirable to use the medicine with other medicines. Charcoal reduces the absorbing properties of drugs, reduces their effectiveness. With strong gas formation, it is recommended to take prokinetics or carminative agents.

Contraindications

Activated charcoal for bloating is contraindicated in people if there is an ulcer of the stomach and duodenum. Once in the digestive tract, it can affect diseased organs, causing a deterioration in the condition and exacerbation of the disease.

The drug is strictly prohibited in the presence of bleeding from the digestive tract. Once in the bloodstream, coal causes embolism of the blood vessels, which leads to thrombotic formation. There is an unpleasant chance of a blood clot breaking off.

If the cause of bloating is intoxication caused by stool stagnation in the intestines, it is not recommended to take activated charcoal. Reception of the sorbent in this case is possible only after a cleansing enema. Otherwise, the medication will cause a large blockage of the intestinal ducts. It is possible to lead to obstruction, which is eliminated by surgery.
