Tablets from worms for a person of a wide spectrum of action

Helminths are widespread in humans, especially in childhood. Medicine distinguishes about 280 types of parasites that live and develop in the human body. Worm infestation depends on the socio-economic and climatic conditions of the inhabited area.

Briefly about helminthiasis

Worms disrupt the functioning of the body and require timely treatment so as not to cause the development of complications. Thanks to modern drugs, it is possible to destroy parasites and even prevent re-infection.

The life cycle consists of several stages - eggs, larvae and sexually mature forms. Infection occurs through contaminated food, water and contact. Depending on the organ of the lesion, intestinal and extraintestinal forms of pathology are distinguished.

There are 2 classes of worms that cause helminthiasis:

  • round - whipworm, roundworm, pinworm, trichinella;
  • flat - flukes and tapeworms (echinococcus, cysticercus, dwarf tapeworm, bovine tapeworm, cat fluke).

Clinical picture of helminthiasis

The disease is characterized by two stages of the course. It is they who determine the symptomatology of a person.

Acute phase

Pathology usually manifests itself from 2–3 weeks, but the timing of the onset of early manifestations is variable. The main symptom of worms is an allergic reaction. It develops due to the production of antibodies against the antigens of helminth larvae that circulate in the bloodstream.

A sick person develops a skin rash that itches and causes severe discomfort. The rash is prone to recurrent course. In addition, regional lymph nodes are enlarged. Local or generalized edema may appear. Some patients complain of joint and muscle pain.

Additional symptoms of the acute course of helminthiasis may be pain in the chest area. Patients cough, suffer from asthma attacks, stool disorders, nausea and vomiting. With weakened immunity, the development of severe complications is possible - pneumonia, hepatitis, myocarditis, meningoencephalitis.

Chronic phase

The manifestations of the disease are determined by the organ of the lesion, the size and number of parasites. If the worms populate the intestinal tract in a single number, then the pathology most often proceeds without any symptoms.

In a chronic course, patients develop dyspeptic disorders. Children develop pain and asthenoneurotic syndromes. In the case of mass colonization of worms, intestinal obstruction, obstructive jaundice, pancreatitis may occur.

Due to the fact that the worm consumes nutrients necessary for life from the human body, vitamins, trace elements, carbohydrates, fats and proteins are not able to be adequately absorbed. The metabolic products of worms suppress the normal intestinal microflora and lead to a weakening of the immune system. Due to the constant restoration of tissues affected by the activity of parasites, the risk of developing malignant neoplasms increases significantly.

How to choose the right pills for worms

The drugs are selected taking into account the type of parasite, therefore, before starting therapy, it is recommended to determine which worm has inhabited the host's body. For this purpose, specific analyzes are performed. Worms can affect any human organs.

List of medicines for roundworms:

  • Dekaris;
  • Piperazine;
  • Vanquin;
  • Vermox;
  • Nemozole;
  • Geotmintox;
  • Nemocide.

The following antihelminthic drugs are used to kill flatworms:

  • Albendazole;
  • Akrikhin;
  • Fenasal;
  • Biltricide;
  • Perchlorethylene;
  • Azinox.

Anthelmintic drugs affect the biological structures of worms and disrupt their biochemical processes in tissues. Some medications are aimed at blocking the transmission of nerve signals to muscle cells, causing permanent paralysis of the parasite. This allows you to remove it from the body with feces.

The best broad-spectrum antihelminthic drugs

Any medication should be taken only on the recommendation of the attending physician. the agents used against parasites are highly toxic. The patient must strictly adhere to the dosage, taking into account his body weight.

In case of intestinal damage, the following are added to the main treatment:

  • antibacterial agents;
  • enterosorbents;
  • enzymes;
  • probiotics.

Symptomatic treatment includes antihistamines, intravenous infusions, vitamins, NSAIDs, and glucocorticosteroids. If the disease is caused by echinococcus, then the main method of treatment is surgery.

Nemozole

It leads to damage to the cells of the intestinal tract of the parasite, changes the course of biochemical processes, suppressing the utilization of glucose, and causes the death of muscle cells of the worm. The broad-spectrum drug affects tapeworms, roundworms and flukes.

The course of treatment is from 3 days to 1 month. The drug is taken during meals. Doctors recommend that all family members be treated simultaneously.

Piperazine

Anthelmintic tablets have a paralyzing effect on parasites. They disrupt the function of their neuromuscular system. The medicine is widely used to treat adult patients and children.

The course of treatment is most often 2 days. In some cases, a single dose is possible. The dosage depends on the type of worms and the patient's condition. It is recommended to take the tablets with or after meals.

The drug does not require preliminary preparation of the patient and adherence to a special diet. Laxatives are needed when there is a tendency to constipation. If Piperazine is prescribed for the treatment of enterobiasis, then the hygienic regime must be strictly observed.

Helmindazole

A broad-spectrum anthelmintic drug causes irreversible impairment of glucose utilization. It depletes the stores of glycogen in the tissues of the parasite. In parallel, the agent normalizes the function of the intestinal tract.

It is recommended to take the tablets with a little water. They are taken once, the dosage is determined by the patient's age. If there is a high risk of repeated helminthic invasion, then it is advisable to re-take the drug after 2-4 weeks at the same dosage. In addition, it is important to use Helmindazole at the same time for all family members.

Vermox

The drug causes an irreversible disorder in the utilization of glucose, contributes to the depletion of glycogen stores in the worm tissues. It should be taken orally with a small amount of water. It is allowed to chew the tablets or swallow them whole. Crushing the drug is recommended for young children.

Treatment does not require special measures: diet, laxatives. Depending on the type of worm, a single dose or treatment for a course of 3 days is allowed. To combat re-infection, the tablets are applied after 2-4 weeks. The attending physician prescribes the required dosage regardless of age and body weight.

Fenasal

A drug with antihelminthic activity suppresses the resistance of parasites to digestive enzymes. The active substance provokes neuromuscular paralysis of worms. They are paralyzed and deprived of the ability to attach to the intestinal wall, nutrition and independent movement. As a result, they are digested along with the food entering the body.

The regimen of the prescribed treatment is determined by the causative agent of parasitic invasion, the age of the patient. In pediatric practice, the dosage also depends on age. For children under 5 years old, the doctor recommends 4 tablets, from 5 to 12 years old - 6 pieces. For adults, the doctor prescribes 8-12 tablets.

The course of antiparasitic therapy is 1 day. On this day, it is necessary to adjust the diet, give preference to a liquid or puree-like consistency of food, as well as low-fat foods.

Let's sum up

No one can be insured against parasitic invasion in the body. A person closely communicates with surrounding objects, other people. When worms are colonized, normal vital activity is disrupted. The larvae of the worm with the bloodstream can enter almost any organ and cause pathological changes in it. To choose the right drug, the doctor takes into account the type of helminth, the age of the patient. Tablets for worms of a wide spectrum of action are aimed at destroying any type of parasite. However, they may have contraindications to taking the medication.
