Composition

Duspatalin is a drug from the Dutch pharmaceutical company Abbott Healthcare Products B.V. Provided in 2 dosage forms - tablets (135 mg) and capsules (200 mg) for oral administration application. The basis of the drug is mebeverin, and auxiliary components are also present in the composition.

It consists in the fact that after entering the stomach, mebeverine is slowly released from the capsule - over 16 hours. Conventional tablets do not have such properties. You can buy Duspatalin capsules in a package containing 3 blisters of 10 pieces each. Externally, these are white capsules marked "245". White granules are present inside.

The tablets contain 135 mg of mebeverine hydrochloride. Covered with a white shell, they have a round shape. Produced by the manufacturer in blisters. The package can contain 1, 3 or 5 blisters of 10 tablets each.

How Duspatalin works

Duspatalin is a myotropic antispasmodic with pronounced analgesic properties. Has the ability to stop spasms, relax the smooth muscles of the intestines. Mebeverin in the composition of the drug does not affect intestinal peristalsis, while improving the process of food digestion. The mechanism of action of the drug allows it to be used for a variety of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which are accompanied by spasm and pain in the abdomen.

Mebeverine has the ability to block the reuptake of norepinephrine, relax the sphincter, improving bile flow and relieving soreness with increased contraction of the intestinal muscles. After taking the drug, mebeverine is slowly absorbed into the bloodstream, penetrates into the liver cells, where it breaks down into metabolites. It is excreted from the body by the kidneys for 16 hours after ingestion.
