Diarrhea with pancreatitis: how to stop

Pancreatitis is a pathology characterized by inflammation of the pancreas.

If enzymes are not produced by the gland, then the breakdown of proteins, fats and carbohydrates will simply be impossible.

Often the illness can accompany diarrhea or constipation. At this moment, the activation of pancreatic enzymes begins, which leads to the destruction of the organ.

If the disease is chronic, then the process of replacing the glandular tissues with scar tissue begins, which leads to a violation of the secretion of enzymes and hormones.

Symptoms of the disease

The inflammatory process that develops in the pancreas is called pancreatitis.

Normally, the pancreas performs the following functions:

  • participation in the digestive process (ensuring complete digestion of enzymes - protein, fat, carbohydrates in the gastrointestinal tract);
  • participation in regulatory processes with energy exchange;
  • regulation of glucose levels in the circulatory system by pancreatic hormones.

There are several types of forms of the disease: acute and chronic. In acute pancreatitis, there is an increased intensity of manifestation of symptomatic signs and the rapidity of the course of the disease.

For a long time, with chronic pancreatitis, the symptoms of the disease develop, alternating with stages of exacerbation and remission.

Factors of the onset of the disease

Faced with unpleasant symptoms, people ask themselves why diarrhea has occurred? With the development of pancreatitis, a change in the gland is observed, and it also begins to act intermittently.

You need to know what can lead to the development of an ailment in order to understand why an unpleasant manifestation occurs, and get rid of it in a short time.

Diarrhea with pancreatitis is one of the clear signs of the manifestation of a chronic disease.

At this time, dysfunction of the pancreas is observed, which leads to a malfunction in the digestive system, as a result of which food is not digested by the body and pancreatitis develops.

The gastrointestinal tract is severely irritated, food leaves the body undigested in the form of corresponding feces, acquiring, a fetid odor is noted (often diarrhea).

If a person consumes a large amount of a sugar-containing component (glucose), then this leads to its accumulation in the pancreas and the development of diabetes mellitus.

If you experience the above symptomatic signs, including diarrhea, you should consult your doctor.

If you ignore all the unpleasant symptoms with pancreatitis, then you will have to be treated for a long time.

In addition, when the disease is prolonged, the patient may spend large sums of money on the purchase of medicines.

Sometimes diarrhea occurs due to the negative effects of a variety of viral infections. To eliminate diarrhea, experts recommend controlling a person's nutritional addictions.

The patient must carefully monitor his health. Various viruses contribute to the weakening of the body's internal defenses.

Their presence can lead to a deterioration in human well-being, and to the development of various unpleasant manifestations, one of which is diarrhea.

The appearance of the disease is often caused by an experienced trauma to the gland. But the patient refuses to associate the development of diarrhea and trauma to the gland.

With the chronic nature of the disease, one should beware of any traumatic situations, since they can cause the development of unpleasant consequences for the human body.

Often pathologies of the gallbladder lead to the appearance of diarrhea, so doctors recommend being careful when developing an ailment in this organ.

To prevent diarrhea from appearing, it is worth adhering to the recommended dietary rules and not deviating from the developed diet.

Diarrhea is often due to allergic reactions. The emergence of a strong supersaturation of the human body with uncontrolled intake of any medications leads to dysfunction of mucous tissues in the gastrointestinal tract.

In this case, diarrhea may occur, especially when consuming categorically incompatible foods.

Sometimes, with disorders of the intestinal department and pancreatitis, there are no symptoms.

But often, with the development of the disease, painful sensations arise in the abdomen, contributing to the appearance of such an unpleasant phenomenon as diarrhea.

If you have an allergic reaction to taking pills, you should immediately consult a doctor to prevent the onset of unpleasant consequences.

The necessary treatment is prescribed only by a doctor after a thorough examination and taking various tests and samples. With diseases of the pancreas, one cannot self-medicate, otherwise the condition may worsen.

The appearance of stones in the gallbladder area can also lead to malfunction of the pancreas. In the human body, there is a connection between the gland and the gallbladder.

They are connected by a common duct. When eating, there is a contraction of the gallbladder.

If there is a stone in the general flow, then it becomes stuck, leading to dysfunction of the pancreas.

If we ignore the appearance of painful sensations in the epigastric region, then pancreatitis from an acute form of the disease often turns into a chronic one.

Diagnostics

In order to correctly diagnose the disease, with pancreatitis, the doctor prescribes the following procedures:

  • a gastroenterologist examines and advises the patient if pancreatic dysfunction is suspected;
  • the doctor asks the patient about the appearance of various signs of the disease, including if diarrhea or constipation appears;
  • taking a blood test from a vein for biochemistry is prescribed;
  • if pancreatitis is suspected, the patient undergoes a general urinalysis, and a feces analysis is also prescribed;
  • an ultrasound examination of the pancreas is performed;
  • the appointment of X-ray examination and computed tomography of organs located in the abdominal cavity, including the mandatory examination of the gland;
  • conducting gastroscopic and cholecystocholangiographic studies.

If an inflammatory process develops in the pancreatic region, then dysfunction of the work of this organ is often observed, which sometimes leads to the appearance of diarrhea.

With the development of the disease, a large number of feces are observed.

With pancreatitis, the structure of the stool becomes mushy, contains fat and undigested food particles, foams, has a grayish tint and can smell unpleasant.

The principle of nutrition during the development of the disease

The disease is effectively treated with a properly selected diet.

If diarrhea is observed with pancreatitis, then with the inflammatory process that develops in the gland, it is necessary to adhere to a certain diet. Doctors advise:

  • drink plenty of water;
  • eat during the day 5-6 times, eating small portions of food;
  • with pancreatitis, you should eat only warm food, in the stage of exacerbation it should be ground and steamed;
  • exclude fatty, salty, smoked, sweet foods, which are prohibited for use with pancreatitis;
  • stop drinking alcoholic beverages;
  • if diarrhea appears, then dietitians do not advise eating fresh fruits and vegetables for pancreatitis form, since they contain plant fiber, which in large quantities contributes to the development illness;
  • with the development of diarrhea, you should not eat foods with a high content of gluten, this applies to canned food, kvass, marinades;
  • if the pancreas is worried, it is recommended to abandon legumes, flour products, various mushrooms;
  • experts recommend not smoking for pancreatitis.

Effectively help with a disease exercise therapy. If you apply a cold compress to the area, the diarrhea usually goes away.

If you are tormented by such an unpleasant phenomenon as diarrhea, then at this moment you should not leave the house, not invite friends to visit.

Treatment of pathology should be carried out only in the circle of close people who will help to survive the unpleasant condition.

If diarrhea bothers a person for a long time, then the person feels a decline in physical strength. The patient becomes tired, depressed, withdrawn from everything that happens.

Diarrhea with pancreatitis is a temporary discomfort that will pass after a short period of time. But if this condition bothers for a long time and nothing helps, then you need to consult a doctor.

Elimination of the disease with medicines

With pancreatitis with persistent diarrhea, the patient is recommended to be admitted to the hospital, where medication will help replenish lost nutrients by injecting them directly into the vein, since diarrhea contributed to their rapid withdrawal.

You can get rid of unpleasant manifestations at home with pancreatitis. The doctor must decide what medications should be used to get rid of the symptoms of the disease.

All medications can be prescribed only after a set of procedures and tests.

In this case, treatment is carried out through the introduction of drugs that improve the process digestion of food, and also lead to an increase in the functionality of the gland with the help of enzyme medications.

For pancreatitis, the following drugs are usually prescribed:

  • Pancreatin;
  • Creon;
  • Colibacterin;
  • Bifidumbacterin;
  • Lactobacterin;
  • Mezim.

Treatment of unpleasant manifestations should be prescribed in combination in order to completely get rid of the disease. The doctor carries out treatment based on clinical data and anamnesis.

In this case, it is impossible to use drugs that have anchoring properties, with the help of which diarrhea is eliminated with the development of other diseases.

But sometimes doctors prescribe medication treatment (Imodium, Loperamide), and also treat the disease with the help of traditional medicine.

If you treat with such means uncontrollably, then there is an inhibition of the functionality of the intestinal section, which leads to a delay in the body of undigested food, contributing to intoxication.

Treatment with the onset of severe pain is carried out with pain relievers, but often they do not work with pancreatitis.

To eliminate undigested food residues, treatment is usually done with cleansing enemas.

In a similar way, you can stop the process that occurs due to rotting and fermentation of eaten food.

Treatment is also possible with the help of a vitamin and mineral complex, including Vitacompa, Centrum, Supradina, Adaptovit.

The use of traditional medicine

In milder forms of the disease, the disease can be treated with the help of folk recipes. But to prevent unpleasant consequences in pancreatitis, it is worth consulting with a specialist.

Herbal infusions can eliminate diarrhea. The most effective way to stop the disease can be a mixture of chamomile, calendula, corn stigmas, drenched in boiling water.

The drug should be taken 15 minutes before meals, pre-infused for 1 hour. The course of treatment for pancreatitis is 2 months.

So, if you are worried about unpleasant consequences for the body, then you need to consult a doctor, and if diarrhea bothers for more than 2 days, such a step is simply necessary, since such a condition contributes to the removal of beneficial substances.

In case of a severe course of the disease, treatment in a stationary setting is required.

If the doctor prescribes taking medications at home, then you should adhere to strict rules in order to quickly eliminate the disease.
