Estesifin

Composition, release form and price

The main substance of the drug is naftifine hydrochloride. It belongs to the category of allylamines, which have a pronounced fungicidal effect. This component is included in the majority of modern expensive medicines.

The auxiliary ingredients of Estezifin are water and propylene glycol, which act as fillers, as well as ethyl alcohol 96%, which complements the antiseptic effect of the drug.

The product is available in two forms:

1% SOLUTION D / EXTERNAL APPLICATION It is sold in 15 ml vials. Has an additional removable cannula for convenient application of the drug.
1% SPRAY Sold in 15 ml vials, equipped with a spray nozzle for comfortable treatment of large foci of infection.

Estesifin is difficult to obtain in the Russian Federation. Therefore, it is recommended for citizens of this country to pre-order it online.

The cost in Ukraine is 85-130 hryvnia, in Russia - about 400 rubles.

pharmachologic effect

Estesifin destroys the following types of pathogenic microorganisms due to its pronounced fungicidal effect:

  • dermatophytes, in particular microsporiums, trichophytons and epidermaphytons;
  • candida fungi (yeast-like);
  • aspergillus (moldy).

The drug has a bactericidal effect against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms that provoke secondary infectious and inflammatory processes and cause the development mycoses.

The product penetrates intensively into the deep layers of the skin and nail, in a short time removing pathological phenomena resulting from the vital activity of the fungal flora, namely, itching, burning, inflammatory reactions.

Naftifine hydrochloride - the active ingredient of Estezifin, blocks the synthesis of ergosterol in the cellular structures of pathogenic microorganisms. Against this background, the death of the causative agents of onychomycosis and candidiasis occurs. In addition to this action, medical alcohol present in the composition of the drug has auxiliary antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects, disinfecting the processed surface.

The medicine is used externally, while it is absorbed into the human body by about 6%. The process of its excretion is carried out by the kidneys in the next 48 hours.

Indications

Estesifin is prescribed against fungal infections caused by dermatophytes, mold and yeast pathogens. In relation to them, the active components of the drug during local treatment create a pronounced fungicidal effect.

The main indications for the use of the drug:

  • interdigital lesions with mycoses;
  • nail fungus (onychomycosis);
Interdigital lesions with mycoses pityriasis versicolor
  • pityriasis versicolor;
  • inflammatory and other fungal infections of the skin, including the ear canal.

Instructions for use

External use of the Estesifin spray or solution for mycotic infections depends on the diagnosis. Consider the main methods of drug treatment.

Application for fungal skin diseases. The drug in the form of a solution or spray is applied once a day to clean and dry areas of the dermis with foci of inflammation. Additional processing is subject to 1 cm of adjacent healthy tissue.

If we are talking about mycosis of the ear canal, then a cotton turunda is moistened with Estesifin's solution and injected into the ear for 5-7 minutes. The manipulation is repeated up to 2 times a day.

The recommended course of treatment for cutaneous candidiasis is 1 month, with mycosis of the ear canal - 14 days, with other types of fungal infections of the dermis - 2-4 weeks. After the therapeutic effect, the drug is used for prophylactic purposes for all of the listed diseases, for another 14 days according to the same scheme.

Application for nail fungus. Before using Estesifin for the first time, you should prepare the surface of the nails - the foci of onychomycosis for its effects.

For this, the hands or feet (depending on the presence of a pathological process) are steamed in for 15 minutes in hot water with the addition of emollients - soda, laundry soap or seafood salt. Then, using a nail file and nail scissors, the affected parts of the nail are removed, paying special attention to the upper stratum corneum. These actions will help the components of Estezifin to more easily get into the deepest tissues of the affected plates.

The use of Estesifin for nail fungus

The preparation is applied to the prepared areas of the nail 2 times a day. To do this, a cotton swab is abundantly moistened with a solution and applied to the nail plates, fixing on top with a plaster or bandage. The procedure is recommended in the evening. In this case, the product is actively absorbed into the deep layers of the nail, leaving no traces and foreign smell.

It is recommended to continue the course of treatment until a new healthy plate grows back. On average, the minimum duration of the therapeutic effect of Estezifin is 4-8 weeks. It depends on the degree of neglect of onychomycosis. After the disappearance of the signs of the disease, the drug is used for another 14 days for prophylactic purposes in order to avoid a relapse of the pathology.

Application in children

In pediatric practice, there are no reliable data on the safety of Estezifin and other medicines based on naftifine hydrochloride. Therefore, experts are in no hurry to prescribe drugs with its content up to the age of 12 for young patients.

When identifying diseases that are subject to the therapeutic effect of this drug, it is recommended to look for analogues with a similar mechanism of influence. For this reason, Estezifin is not a drug that can be used as self-medication in children, without a doctor's prescription.

Use in pregnant and lactating women

According to the instructions for use of the medication, the negative effect of its active ingredients on the developing fetus and newborn is unlikely when applied externally. Research data on the teratogenic effects of naftifine hydrochloride deny them, but, one way or another, Estesifin is prescribed to women during pregnancy and breastfeeding with caution, with a preliminary assessment by a specialist of the ratio of the benefits and risks of drug funds.

Application for pregnant and lactating

Additionally, in the annotation to the drug there is a note that during lactation, it should be avoided to get on the skin of the child and into the digestive organs.

Side effects

According to observations, Estesifin is generally well tolerated by patients. If any undesirable reactions from the body appear, then, first of all, you need to pay attention to the scheme of using the medication - most likely, its overdose was allowed. It is not recommended to interfere in the course of treatment on your own, therefore, if you find side effects, you should immediately consult a doctor.

So, the list of adverse reactions includes:

  • increased dry skin, dehydration;
  • hyperemia and irritation of the dermis in the area of application of the drug;
  • itching, burning, erythema-type rash.Itching and rash

The listed symptoms do not require additional intervention. As a rule, they go away on their own after the withdrawal of Estesifin.

It is important to ensure that the components of the drug do not get on the mucous membranes. In this case, serious tissue irritation may develop, up to and including burns.

Contraindications

The drug is not recommended for use in the following cases:

  • individual hypersensitivity to the individual components of the drug;
  • the presence of damage to the skin in the form of cracks, scratches and other wound surfaces;
  • children under 12 years of age - as a result of insufficient knowledge of the effect of naftifine hydrochloride on a growing body.

Estesifin is prescribed with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Reviews

Natalia, 25 years old. “I was able to get rid of the onychomycosis on the big toe with the Estezifin treatment solution. The drug was prescribed by a dermatologist after examination and analysis. The tool is inexpensive, it is consumed economically - I only needed a drop to process the nail per day, more often I do not need to apply the medicine. The general condition of the nail returned to normal by the end of the second week, complete recovery came in a month and a half. Recommend".

Mikhail, 34 years old. “I heard a lot of positive reviews about the Estezifin drug, and when there was a suspicion of nail fungus, I decided to take the advice of my friends and buy it. I can say that the remedy really works, because after a few weeks, with a single use of the medication per day, not a trace of the disease remained. Try it. "

Marina, 37 years old. “Unfortunately, my acquaintance with Estesifin was not crowned with success. Perhaps the drug is actually good and the quality fights against fungal infections, but it caused a strong allergic reaction and general discomfort in me. The doctor canceled the drug and chose a different treatment regimen with a completely different medication. At the same time, he explained that in my case it was about intolerance to the active ingredient of Estesifin and, in general, the medicine is good. Therefore, I advise you to pay attention to it if you are not allergic. "

Estezifin is an affordable and effective drug that is active against fungal infections. It is practically devoid of restrictions in use and quite rarely provokes the development of side effects. But it is highly undesirable to start treatment without a preliminary examination by a specialist.
