The therapeutic diet increases the time intervals between relapses of the disease and serves as a preventative of severe exacerbations.

Menu for diseases of the pancreas and liver should be directed to correction of metabolism. Specifically - to reduce the secretion of the pancreas.

This can be achieved by applying special methods of processing food, excluding certain products and introducing others into the diet.

The menu for each patient can be made individually, taking into account taste preferences, possible allergic reactions, the type of the disease and its stage, concomitant pathologies.

The principles of making menus for pancreatic diseases:

  • should be eaten at the same time;
  • requires a complete refusal of alcohol;
  • diet should be as varied as possible;
  • menu is expanded very gradually: from starvation to a full-fledged diet;
  • should remember that you need to treat not a disease, but a specific patient, so the diet can be individual;
  • it is necessary to take into account the caloric content of the diet and its balance in the basic chemical elements, proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

To the listed principles the diet No. 5, compiled by Professor Pevzner completely in the middle of the 20th century, fully corresponds.

Pevzner's medical diets are still successfully used in the treatment of various diseases. Diet No. 5 is prescribed for patients with diseases of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.

Compliance with this diet can improve bile secretion, as well as normalize the functioning of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas.

There are enough proteins and carbohydrates in the diet menu, but fats are sharply limited and meals containing extractive substances are completely excluded.

Extractive substances increase secretion of all digestive glands, including pancreatic glands. With pancreatitis, it is deadly, since the enzymes of the diseased gland corrode the tissues of the organ itself.

The therapeutic diet for various diseases of the pancreas and liver should be supplemented by drug treatment: enzyme preparations, litholytic therapy.

If necessary, additionally prescribed therapeutic exercise, treatment with mineral water, physiotherapy.

Menu for pancreatic diseases

Nutrition for pancreatic disease depends on the stage of the disease. In acute pancreatitis, not a diet is prescribed, but a complete starvation.

The patient can not even see food and inhale its smell, so as not to provoke the production of digestive enzymes.

After several days of fasting, carbohydrate nutrition is administered in liquid and semi-liquid form in small doses up to 8 times a day.

  • proteins - 120 g.
