What is agglutination and how to treat it?
There are two types of agglutination:
- true - clumping of spermatozoa with each other, as a result of which they lose mobility and function for fertilization, infertility develops;
- false( nonspecific) - coagulation of spermatozoa with epithelial cells, mucus, constituents of seminal fluid. Such spermatozoa also lose mobility.
Agglutination of spermatozoa is caused by the formation of antisperm antibodies, which are produced in the body of a man in response to the contact of sperm with blood. Sex cells in this case are recognized as the immune system of the body as foreign, since they carry only half the set of chromosomes. The body produces specific proteins( antisperm antibodies) that occupy part of the surface of the spermatozoa, which causes their gluing. As a result, their mobility and the functions of fertilization of the eggs are impaired.
Causes of agglutination
The reasons for the development of agglutination are diverse. These can be testicular injuries or consequences of surgery, as well as autoimmune inflammatory diseases, weak immune system, inflammatory diseases( orchitis, prostatitis, epidemic) and infectious diseases( including sexually transmitted diseases).
In addition, predisposing factors of agglutination can be - the abuse of alcohol, the intake of certain medicinal and narcotic drugs, as well as the underdevelopment of male reproductive organs.
Diagnosis of agglutination
As a rule, the phenomenon of coalescence of spermatozoa is detected when suspected of infertility, when a spermogram is performed. This method allows you to assess: the volume, color, reaction, viscosity, the number of spermatozoa, their mobility, the presence of adhesion, mucus, the presence of red and white blood cells. Sperm for such an analysis is collected directly in the laboratory by masturbation, sometimes it is allowed to assemble her houses in sterile dishes, but the time for delivery to the laboratory is limited to one hour and when it is warm.
Even with the gluing of single cells, additional studies are carried out. An analysis is conducted for the presence of antisperm antibodies in the blood and sperm of a male.

Methods for the treatment of agglutination
When agglutination of spermatozoa treatment is prescribed by the doctor after the examination, depending on the reason that caused this phenomenon, and on the degree of gluing of spermatozoa.
In cases where agglutination is the result of an inflammatory or infectious disease, treatment of a primary disease is prescribed. Drugs that affect the quality of sperm and eliminate the phenomenon of agglutination can also be prescribed. This is the most favorable outcome.
If male diseases that require surgical intervention lead to agglutination, then a surgical method will be applied. In parallel with him, medication is prescribed. At the moment, drugs are produced that affect sperm.
But agglutination is more common without signs of inflammation and with a high degree of disturbance of spermographic research. Male organism in such a situation is not able to naturally fertilize the egg. In this case, the doctor will most likely prescribe the filtration of the seminal fluid, as a result of which the spermatozoa return mobility and the ability to penetrate into the female egg. Then the purified sperm with a special catheter is introduced into the uterus at the moment when the egg ripens. This is a method of intrauterine insemination.
In cases where the insemination method is not possible due to the small number of spermatozoa, fertilization is used in vitro. Conception occurs by the joint incubation of the extracted from the female body of the egg and purified spermatozoa.
There are situations when all the above methods are ineffective, doctors prescribe artificial insemination - in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic injection of spermatozoa. These methods give a greater probability of conception, although it is more complicated and much more expensive than previous methods.
Nutrition during agglutination
During treatment of such pathological condition, men are recommended to consume a large amount of products containing vitamin C - for example, kiwi, citrus, strawberry, currant, red sweet pepper, various kinds of cabbage.

Traditional medicine

Also used herbal infusions. For the treatment of agglutination recommended:
- infusion of the mountaineer bird - a glass of grass is poured with a liter of boiling water, it is insisted, taken as tea;
- infusion of spore - twenty grams of herbs pour a glass of water, warm in a water bath for twenty minutes, insist an hour. Then filter and drink three times a day before eating;
- a decoction of goricveta - a tablespoon of herbs are poured with boiling water( one glass), insisted for two hours, taken three times a day;
- decoction from the Adam's root - the grass( two teaspoons) is poured with boiling water( one glass), then insisted for three hours, taken four times a day;
- broth from plantain - psyllium seeds( a tablespoon) are poured with boiling water, heated for five minutes in a water bath, drink four times a day;
- infusion of sage - sage seeds( a teaspoon) pour boiling water( one glass), drink twice a day.
In addition, it is recommended to include in the course of treatment the reception of a syrup from a red or dark pink tea rose.
