Allergic diathesis

Allergic diathesis is one of the most common diseases of children aged three to six months, which arises from the predisposition of the body to allergic and inflammatory diseases. In most cases, the disease lasts for one to two years and then most children disappear on their own. An important role in the development of allergic diathesis is played by the hereditary predisposition and the impact of various unfavorable environmental factors

Causes of

Allergic diathesis can become a catalyst for: toxicosis during pregnancy, infectious diseases , the use of various drugs during pregnancy, During pregnancy, and during breast-feeding.

The main source of allergens in infants( children of the first years of life) is food, but they can also enter the body by air and during a large number of vaccinations.

In connection with the development of an allergic reaction, a high content of some biologically active substances( leukotrienes, serotonin, histamine, etc.) is observed in the blood. Also, children with atopic diathesis predisposed to the appearance of abnormal liver function, to hormonal metabolism, violations adequate functioning of the central nervous system and other malformations

Symptoms

Symptoms of the disease are summed from symptoms suggestive of mucous membranes( keratitis, vulvovaginitis , conjunctivitis , blepharitis , rhinopharyngitis, "geographical language", laryngitis, unstable stool, etc.), lymphatic system( hyperatrophia tonsils, adenoids , enlarged lymph nodes), of the skin( atopic dermatitis, cradle cap, eczema, seborrhea, etc.).Children may experience hay fever( hay fever) and bronchial asthma. Infants sometimes have gneiss: brown / dirty - gray seborrheic scales on the scalp( crown and crown) in the form of a shell or cap. The course of gneiss is favorable in most cases, but in some children it can be transformed into seborrheic eczema, which can spread to the forehead, cheeks and ears. Milk scab is also a fairly common symptom of allergic diathesis in children of the first year of life: near the auricles and on the skin of the cheeks a sharply outlined redness and swelling with signs of scaling are formed. The dairy scab is often accompanied by itching and often turns into eczema. One of the distinctive symptoms of allergic diathesis is the persistent form of intertrigo, which can be either dry or wet.

Pediatric eczema is considered to be the most severe form of allergic diathesis, as in older children it can easily be transformed into a neurodermatitis

Treatment of

First of all, a child with this disease needs to be transferred to a rational diet. And although there is no standard diet for all children, there are general recommendations for proper nutrition. Breastfeeding does not stop, however, in the diet of the mother it is necessary to reduce the intake of table salt, fats, carbohydrates and allergens. For older children, it is recommended to exclude pork, fish, eggs, beef broth, mousses, kissels, various seasonings and spices, nuts and legumes from the diet. It is also necessary to limit the use of liquid, protein and fat.

Medication is aimed at reducing the itching and permeability of the vascular wall. Attributed to the complex intake of vitamins( A, B5, B6, B12, B15, C) in an individual therapeutic dosage course of three to four weeks. Local treatment in the form of ointment therapy and lotions also significantly affects the improvement of the general condition. In addition, warm baths with celandine, string, oak bark or potassium permanganate are prescribed.

The prognosis with strict adherence to all therapeutic measures is positive.
