The causes of prostatitis

click fraud protection

The etiology of the following types of prostatitis:

  1. infectious - develops when infectious pathogens penetrate into the tissue of the prostate. The most common inflammatory changes in the prostate are caused by the action of microorganisms such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gonococcus, Chlamydia, Trichomonas. In addition, the cause of prostatitis can become a viral infection, for example, herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus.
  2. stagnant - also bears the name of aseptic or abacterial prostatitis. It develops due to stagnation of blood and prostatic secretion in the tissues of the prostate and is the most common form of prostatitis.

The main causes of prostatitis

Among the main causes of inflammation in the prostate gland, specialists call the following:

1. Infection penetration - this factor plays a major role in the development of infectious prostatitis. Infectious agents can penetrate into the prostate tissue in various ways:

- by hematogenous pathway - in the presence of such foci of infection as carious teeth, sinusitis, pustular skin diseases, pneumonia;
- lymphogenous way - with concomitant inflammatory diseases of the rectum, intestinal dysbiosis, hemorrhoids;
- the upward pathway - the spread of infection to the overlying parts of the urinary system with urethritis of various etiologies.

2. Sedentary lifestyle - prolonged inactive work adversely affects the blood supply of all organs of the small pelvis and the prostate gland is not an exception( see "Stagnant blood in the pelvic organs - treatment and prevention").If the background of stagnation in the body there is a focus of infection, the probability of an infectious disease of the prostate increases several times;

3. Chronic trauma of the crotch area - often permanent microtraumas of perineal tissues get motorcyclists, riders, cyclists, drivers. The constant impact of shaking and vibration adversely affects the functioning of the pelvic organs and may eventually lead to the appearance of prostatitis;

4. Infringement of blood supply of organs of a small basin - is observed at the patients, suffering an atherosclerotic defeat of vessels. Obturation of the lumen of the iliac arteries, the pathology of the veins can lead to a disruption in the nutrition of prostatic cells and subsequent inflammation of the tissues. A certain violation of the perineal blood supply is observed when wearing tight clothing and linen;5. Irregular and inferior sex life - sexual arousal that does not end with sexual intercourse and ejaculation, contributes to the flow of blood into the veins of the small pelvis with the subsequent development of blood stagnation. During a full ejaculation, the prostate gland expels a sufficient amount of secret, while freeing the lumen of the smallest glands. Thus, risk factors for stagnation and inflammatory reactions are eliminated. Too frequent sexual contacts can deplete the defenses of the body and make it defenseless before aggressive factors of the external environment( see "What causes the lack of sex and sexual abstinence in men?").That is why regular sex life with a regular partner is one of the important methods of prophylaxis of prostatitis;

6. Congenital abnormalities of the structure - in some cases, from an early age, a man has the prerequisites for the development of chronic prostatitis. It can be such changes as the tortuosity of the excretory ducts, the pathology of the glandular wall structure, the absence of sphincters of the excretory ducts of the prostatic lobes. In such situations, the infection easily penetrates into the prostate tissue, and the outflow of the prostatic secretion is disturbed. Certain role in the emergence of pathology is played by endocrine disorders, in particular, androgen deficiency.

Predisposing factors of

There are factors that alone can not cause prostatitis, but can exacerbate the negative impact of other causes of the disease:

  • alcohol abuse;
  • smoking;
  • predisposition to constipation;
  • hemorrhoids;
  • acute food abuse;
  • decreased immunity, for example, with hypothermia, overfatigue, hypovitaminosis, systemic diseases.
