Aggregation of spermatozoa in spermogram - reasons, treatment

click fraud protection

Aggregation of spermatozoa is a pathological process characterized by gluing male reproductive cells with the subsequent formation of clots. For the spermogram of a healthy man, this phenomenon is not typical. The reason for applying to a medical specialist is the prolonged inability to conceive a child. If we consider this state from the point of view of its danger, then the aggregation of spermatozoa leads to the formation of infertility in the male type.

Decoding of the spermogram indicators

The interpretation of the quantitative and qualitative composition of the seminal fluid, in this case, can be ambiguous. Male reproductive cells can be soldered with both mucus and other components.

Aggregation with cellular debris. The diagnosis of "aggregation with cellular debris" implies the gluing of spermatozoa, between which the particles of dead cells are located. The leading cause of this condition are diseases of male organs of the reproductive system of an inflammatory and non-inflammatory nature.

Aggregation with mucus. Often in the spermogram, there is aggregation of sex cells with mucus particles. This condition is characterized by the appearance of small mucous lumps in the seminal fluid. In the spermogram results, a decrease or increase in the amount of ejaculate may be observed.

In most cases, the cause of aggregation of spermatozoa with mucus becomes prostateziculitis in a chronic form. Prostateziculitis is characterized by inflammation of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles. The soldered spermatozoa lose the ability to move, and, consequently, the potential for fertilization of the egg.

In addition to dead cells and mucus, with the aggregation of spermatozoa, elements such as leukocytes, macrophages and erythrocytes can be observed in the spermogram. The appearance of each element indicates the development of a pathological condition in the male body.

Causes of

During the diagnosis, the aggregation and agglutination of spermatozoa should not be confused. The process of agglutination is characterized by the adhesion of spermatozoa to each other, and in the process of aggregation, they are glued together with other biological structures.

Infectious-inflammatory diseases. Most often, the mechanism of aggregation is based on an increase in the duration of the process of liquefaction of the ejaculate. As predisposing factors are infectious and inflammatory diseases of testes, prostate and seminal ducts. In the presence of a chronic inflammatory process, an increase in the viscosity of the seminal fluid is observed.

STI. Very often, the cause of aggregation of sex cells are infectious diseases of reproductive system organs, sexually transmitted diseases( see How to pass the test for sexual infections).

Prostatitis, vesiculitis. If in the spermogram was identified the aggregation of spermatozoa with particles of mucus, then the cause may be an inflammation of the seminal vesicles( vesiculitis).As a rule, vesiculitis is formed against a background of a long-term inflammatory process of prostate tissue( prostatitis).

The danger of vesiculitis for the male body is that the result of this ailment is an increase in the density and viscosity of the seminal fluid. Viscous and dense ejaculate is not able to serve as a favorable transport medium for male germ cells.

Concomitant diseases. In the process of medical examination, in men with sperm aggregation, they often find such concomitant diseases as:

  • paraproctitis;
  • orcoepididymitis;
  • cystitis;
  • pyelonephritis.
The infectious focus, characteristic for each of the listed diseases, can at any moment spread to the tissue of the prostate gland, provoking inflammation in it. That is why the timely diagnosis of chronic diseases plays an important role in maintaining the reproductive health of men.

Status Correction

If a man has been diagnosed as "aggregation of sperm with mucus", then he will be recommended a complex therapy for a major disease, such as vesiculitis or prostatitis.

When diagnosing only the aggregation of germ cells with cellular debris, the basic therapy of this condition involves the reception of such groups of drugs:

  • multivitamin complexes containing minerals;
  • antibacterial agents of a wide spectrum of action;
  • analgesics and antispasmodics;
  • hepatoprotectors.

The selection of antibacterial therapy is carried out on an individual basis, depending on the severity of the infectious process and the type of its pathogen. After undergoing comprehensive treatment, a man is recommended to make a control spermogram in order to determine the effectiveness of the therapy received.

If a man suffers from chronic diseases leading to the development of sperm aggregation, he will need specialized treatment in a hospital. The result of timely therapy is the improvement of spermogram indexes and the restoration of male fertility.
