Girl and Doctor

pancreas - it is an important body responsible for normal human digestion. It is located behind the stomach in its lower part and has an alveolar-tubular structure. By the size of iron in the human body is second only to the liver. It produces special enzymes that promote the complete digestion and digestion of food.

Pancreas form

The pancreas can be of various shapes. At some people it is bent, at others reminds the letter "L", at the third has the extended form. This factor depends on the location of neighboring organs, as well as on the presence of angles and thickenings in different departments.

When examining a child or adult, you can see that the pancreas even has a property to shift. So, in the prone position, it moves downward, under the stomach. If a person is standing, then the organ is located closer to the back, only a small part of it "hides" behind the stomach.

Bending or kinking

In medicine, there is no such thing as a "bend" of the pancreas.

As the organ can have various forms, that is, its tissues allow it to bend, straighten and even fold into a ring, then such a pathology does not exist. However, many parents, after examining their child, hear that the baby has an inflection of the pancreas. This phenomenon is not dangerous for health in general, and for digestion in particular.

The exception is a strong kink of the organ when it is rolled into a ring, inside of which is twelve of the peritoneal. In this case, there may be difficulties with digestion, or more precisely - obstruction. This pathology is very rare.

In most cases, bending the pancreas is a temporary phenomenon. In newborn infants, the organ has a wedge-shaped shape with a small head. In the process of growth, the iron changes its shape and often becomes elongated, or forms bends.

Deformation

If the inflection of the pancreas is not a pathology, then the deformation of the organ requires observation by specialists. In a child, this phenomenon is the result of the following diseases:

  • Pancreatitis, transferred in acute form. This disease is dangerous for the pancreas. With pancreatitis, there is an upward shift of the organ and a slight deformation. This can be either an angular bend or a multiple bend. When the disease is detected at an early stage, the child's treatment is effective and helps prevent negative consequences. It is difficult to see pancreatitis - in acute form it is manifested by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain in the left side, an unpleasant taste in the mouth, an increase in body temperature. The transferred and untreated disease passes into a chronic form, which can also cause deformity of the organ.
  • Cyst. Unfortunately, it is impossible to examine the pancreas in detail even on ultrasound. However, to detect cystic formation allows a non-characteristic for the body outline of the place of deformation. Treatment is conservative with timely diagnosis of the disease.
  • Tumor. The unusual inflection of the pancreas, which is distinguished by protruding edges that do not have clear boundaries, can point to a tumor. In children, this phenomenon is extremely rare, but still takes place.

Pancreatic deformation in a child should be carefully examined to identify the disease at an early stage. Often the cause is heredity, malnutrition and acute pancreatitis.

The detected deformity does not always indicate a pathology of the organ and the presence of the disease. This factor should only become an impetus for a thorough examination of the child.

The kink and bend of the pancreas is not a problem or even a diagnosis. The parents have only one task: to provide the child with a proper, healthy diet and carefully monitor his digestion. Any abnormalities should be consulted by a specialist.
