First trimester

Expectation of nausea is a feeling that bothers a pregnant girl. Slight nausea in the first weeks of conception is felt by almost everyone. It is not considered a pathology, it does not necessarily result in severe vomiting. The expectant mother sometimes does not face this situation.

Malaise a day or two after physical intimacy does not indicate an interesting situation, but food poisoning. If a woman finds out the absence of pregnancy, but the deterioration in health does not go away, it is necessary to make an appointment with a specialist. Conception should be discussed after a week of delay.

Delay and faintness are not always correlated. If the bleeding does not start after a week of waiting, and continues to feel nauseous, a logical step is to take a pregnancy test. If the result is negative, the antenatal clinic will give a referral for a blood test for hCG antibodies, an ultrasound scan. The result of conception is established, an ectopic pregnancy is excluded (it has similar symptoms).

Pregnant nausea

Until menses are delayed, nausea usually does not occur. The upper limit of the offensive is 8-12 days. The real term is 5-6 weeks from the moment of fertilization of the egg.

Causes of unpleasant sensations: the future child is a foreign body for the body. Morning vomiting is the result of opposition. This is normal, justified: toxic substances are released that can harm the fetus.

According to the norms, everything ends in the fourth month. When the birth of two or more children is expected, the nausea is usually more intense, the malaise lasts for a whole week or two more.

If nausea worried during the first pregnancy, it is not a fact that it will accompany the bearing of the baby next time.

Sometimes a woman vomits bile, causing anxiety. If it happens in the morning with an empty stomach, without repeating itself after breakfast, there is no reason to worry. It is recommended to try to eat more often. With multiple manifestations, you will need to consult a gynecologist. Pancreatitis, cholecystitis, and liver diseases are able to worsen, for the first time to be detected. Acceptable causes of the appearance of bile in the vomit are appendicitis, intestinal infection, parasite infection.

Early toxicosis is a pathological condition in pregnant women that occurs in the first trimester. Symptoms are dizziness, weakness, nausea with vomiting, poor appetite.

If very sick:

  • Be sure to get enough sleep: full sleep - at least eight hours.
  • Do not rise abruptly out of bed. Wake up gradually, massage your hands and feet. Arrange a light breakfast without getting up. Light breakfast in bed
  • Quit bad habits: smoking, drinking. Walk in the fresh air, avoid being in smoky rooms. Start living as healthy as possible.
  • Starving and overeating is harmful. Carry a snack in your purse (bread, dried fruits, a handful of nuts, seeds).
  • Revise the menu. Exclude fatty, smoked food, hot sauces, canned food. The presence in the diet of foods rich in pyridoxine (B6) can have a beneficial effect on well-being. These are chicken, fish, carrots, potatoes, bananas, hazelnuts, peanuts. They drink vitamin in the form of a ready-made pharmaceutical preparation with the consent of a doctor. Shown protein food, the amount of simple carbohydrates, sugar is recommended to be reduced. A good remedy for toxicosis is chicken broth.
  • Keep a food diary, mark your reactions to different foods and dishes.
  • Observe the optimal drinking regime. You need to drink plenty of liquid: with vomiting, the body is dehydrated. Forget about soda, packaged juices. Ordinary water, homemade fruit drinks, compotes, fresh juices are good.
  • Mint and ginger tea are effective. If you don't like the taste of the latter, ginger is available in the form of special capsules, syrups.
  • Folk recipes - eat sour (citrus), salty (cucumbers, sauerkraut).
  • A number of medicinal plants (yarrow, fennel, calamus) have healing properties, but self-medication is strictly prohibited.
  • Eliminate irritating odors. Use less household chemicals, perfumes. Do not forget to ventilate the kitchen. Ventilation of the room
  • Deal with negative emotions, bad thoughts. Surround with beautiful things, listen to pleasant music, admire nature, relax more, be calm, confident.

Vomiting is classified as:

  • Lightweight. About five cases within 24 hours after eating.
  • Average. Observed ten times on an empty stomach, after eating.
  • The pressure decreases, the weight decreases.
  • Constant. Lasts almost all the time. There is a general deterioration in the woman's health: dehydration, dry skin. Body weight sharply decreases, kidneys function poorly. In severe cases, it becomes an indication for medical abortion.

In case of toxicosis, it is necessary to be under the close supervision of an obstetrician-gynecologist, to urgently go if the problem suddenly disappears. There is a possibility of fetal cardiac arrest!

In the second half of the term

The feeling of nausea at the beginning of the term is perceived as normal. If trouble appears in subsequent periods, consultation with a local obstetrician-gynecologist is needed. The doctor will give competent advice.

In the second trimester

Research has been carried out on the topic of similar sensations for an expectant mother. Reasons identified:

  • Hypertension, hypotension.
  • Infection, the presence of inflammation. Distinctive symptoms are diarrhea, fever. Food poisoning requires a diet that includes light foods: oatmeal, broth, vegetable purees. Food poisoning of a woman
  • The growing uterus presses on the digestive organs. Food returns to the esophagus, accompanied by heartburn.
  • After conception, the level of estrogen in the body rises. At week 12, there is a decline. When this does not happen, the hormone negatively affects the functioning of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Lack of vitamins, minerals as a child develops, grows, in need of nutrients.

If the examination does not reveal serious problems, the prescription of drugs is not required, simple methods will help.

It is important to eat often, little by little. Avoid stress, do not play disturbing thoughts, exciting situations in your head. Warm tea with chamomile, honey, lemon slice will help to put in order the nerves. Essential oils (mint, mandarin, bergamot) help to relax, reduce discomfort. Use them carefully, be sure to read the instructions for use. Sedatives only as prescribed by a doctor.

In the third trimester

They stop tormenting vomiting after 15 weeks. Suddenly, they may appear again, they begin to interfere with a pleasant sense of self at the final stage, which worries the doctor.

The danger of the third stage is gestosis, late toxicosis. An unpleasant complication threatens the life, health of the mother, the unborn baby. It is accompanied by the presence of protein in the urine, pressure surges, sudden weight gain, edema, nausea. The listed signs require immediate hospitalization. The patient needs inpatient treatment.

Non-controversial causes of malaise: pressure of the uterus on internal organs, side effect of drugs, poisoning.

Feeling unimportant is felt at night: lying down provokes the ingestion of digested food into the esophagus. The expectant mother is recommended to sleep on her left side.

It is advisable to limit fatty foods, sweets in the diet, introduce more fresh fruits and vegetables. Prefer stewing, baking to frying in oil. Put small portions in a plate so that the digestive organ, working in "extreme" conditions, can cope. After a meal, stand in a knee-elbow position.

In the third period (after 38 weeks), the presence of nausea indicates the preparation of the body for the birth of a new person.

Postpartum recovery

Nausea in the first days after the end of labor, along with pain in the lower abdomen, diarrhea indicates the likelihood of peritonitis, common with cesarean section. There are only a few hours to eliminate the danger; delay threatens with adverse consequences, death.

Malaise after pregnancy is associated with psychological factors combined with physical fatigue. A woman spends the day monotonously, caring for a newborn, and does not get enough sleep. To pass nausea, drowsiness, forgetfulness, absent-mindedness, a young mother needs the support of loved ones, rest, a change of scenery a couple of times a week.

If the symptoms persist, it is worth making an appointment with a gastroenterologist. The doctor will determine the methods of diagnosing the disease, choose the tactics of treatment.
