Rovzing symptom with appendicitis: Sitkovsky symptoms

Appendicitis is not a dangerous disease, but it has quite serious consequences. The main task of a specialist is to quickly and correctly establish a diagnosis for an admitted patient.

In this case, signs of ailment are helpful. All of them are summarized in one general sequence of symptoms that make it possible to establish inflammation of the appendix of the cecum, differentiating it from other pathologies.

These include the symptom of rovzing with appendicitis, Bartomier-Michelson, Sitkovsky, Voskresensky, etc.

Inflammation of the appendix is fraught with purulent complications in the absence of timely treatment. This pathology develops in the abdominal cavity and pylephlebitis.

These conditions will be especially dangerous up to the lethal end. Signs of pain, impaired wellness and fever should prompt a person to have appendicitis.

The founders of surgery established a whole group of purulent inflammations of the abdominal organs, which they called appendicular symptoms.

In total, about 200 symptoms are known, named after their authors. As for Rovzing, he is a Danish surgeon who was born in 1962 and died in 1927.

It is with the symptom named after this great physician that this article is suggested.

Appendicitis is

The most common diagnosis in the field of surgical pathologies is appendicitis in humans.

Inflammation of the appendix of the cecum is diagnosed most often in women aged 20-40 years. 2 times less men suffer from it. Pathology and children are not bypassed.

The main method of treating acute appendicitis is surgery associated with the removal of the appendix. This surgical intervention is called appendectomy.

Every year, domestic surgeons perform more than 1,000,000 such operations. Complications are no exception in this case, they occur quite often.

In those operated on, they appear in 5% out of 100% in young people and 30% out of 100% in the elderly.

The most common cause of complications is peritonitis. In the case of an acute form of the disease, it manifests itself within a day or two.

In fact, complications are often caused by the fact that people have a vague idea of what appendicitis is, believing that it does not pose a great danger.

Delaying the operation, delaying the time to see a doctor, believing that a miracle will happen and the pathology will pass on its own - all this becomes the reason for the development of complications.

Causes

The reasons for the appearance of appendicitis include:

  • Blockage of the entrance to the worm-like end of the rectum due to the ingress of feces or foreign bodies. A similar phenomenon also occurs in cases of compression of the upper part of the appendix with adhesions during the course of cholecystitis and entritis.
  • Weakening of immunity provokes the multiplication of pathogenic bacteria that provoke inflammation. These are streptococci, Escherichia coli, staphylococci.
  • Spasm of the vessels supplying the appendix with blood.
  • Abdominal trauma.
  • Pregnancy. The uterus grows larger, and therefore the appendix may be displaced.
  • Constipation and weak intestinal motility.
  • Frequent overeating.
  • Lack of vitamins, plant fibers, microelements in the body.
  • The presence of pathologies in the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Tendency to appendicitis due to hereditary factors.
  • Parasites and infectious pathologies.
  • Stressful environments.
  • Bad habits, wrong lifestyle.

Diagnosis

Determine appendicitis, relying on its characteristic signs. These include the above listed deviations of the body from the norm, such as the symptom of Sitkovsky, Rovzing, etc. They are referred to as positive symptoms.

During the determination of Sitovsky's symptom in the right iliac region, pain will intensify if the patient lies on his left side.

The injection of pain will be associated with the fact that the process of the cecum is deformed.

Rovzing's symptom will be delivered if there is pain in the right side of the iliac region.

The pain becomes stronger if you hold a jerky palpation in the area of the lateral canal from left to right on the abdomen.

It is not used in practice as often as it could, but this does not mean that it is not effective. In the medical literature, it is the Rovzing symptom that is most often found.

The sequence of the Rovzing pain syndrome

A symptom is determined when pain occurs with the accumulation of gases in the rectal area.

The doctor squeezes the colon descending intestine with his hand in the region of the left ileal part of the peritoneum. With the help of his right hand, he makes several jerky presses.

With this change, the patient may feel pain in the ileum on the right, which allows the doctor to diagnose appendicitis.

An increase in the painful condition may be accompanied by manifestations of convulsive spasms that are higher than the sigmoid colon, i.e. in the left iliac region.

During the examination of the abdominal wall in the left iliac region, the doctor presses with the fingers of the left hand, which he holds together.

Without removing them, the right limb makes a push above the colon area. This will facilitate the movement of gases during the jolt.

Despite all the manipulations carried out above, in some cases it is impossible to accurately diagnose the patient, since the surgeon Rovzing's symptom is not always present.

A particular difficulty lies in when it is necessary to distinguish the manifestations of appendicitis from the symptoms of rupture of the abdominal aorta with cases of blood spread in the region of the right iliac region.

Although Dr. Rovzing's symptom is not often used in practice, it is one of the most reliable in order to correctly diagnose the condition of a patient with appendicitis.

Of course, the significance of the diagnosis is important. In modern medicine, with a mild form of appendicitis, laparoscopic operations are indicated. This method avoids making an incision in the abdominal region.

The surgeon inserts an endoscopic instrument into the abdominal cavity by placing a small tissue incision over it.

This method allows you to avoid the need for surgical intervention, as well as to speed up the rehabilitation process.

Also, a plus of this technique is that the risk of complications after surgery is minimal.

But all the same, this still does not guarantee that the diagnosis will be made correctly. Appendicitis is very easy to confuse with pancreatitis, renal colic, acute cholecystitis, peptic ulcer disease, and acute inflammation of the bladder.

It is possible that the symptoms will be similar to inflammation of the female organs. It is for this reason that Rovzing's symptoms, like other other signs, are of great value during the diagnosis of appendicitis.

But there are also cases when an abnormal position is observed at the appendix, and therefore the clinical picture in this case will be blurred.

It is important to pay attention to the features of pain. To avoid serious consequences, it is important to seek help from an experienced specialist in time, so that later you do not have to regret your irresponsibility in relation to health!

It is impossible to say for sure where the pain with appendicitis will manifest itself, because everything will depend on the location of the appendix of the cecum.

As a rule, it is located in the pelvic region, in the hypochondrium behind the cecum, or between the intestinal loops.

Cases are not excluded when a lateroposition is observed, when a person has a mirror image of organ structures.

The pains can be pulling, aching and pressing. In terms of intensity, they can rise and fall.

But in the latter case, you should not rejoice, because this does not mean that the pathology has bypassed the person, on the contrary, everything can end very badly if you do not consult a doctor in a timely manner.

The pains are so strong that the person is looking for a posture that will make it possible to reduce them. It will not be possible to lie on the left side, as the pain will become stronger.

This is because the additional structures of the appendix will stretch. This is the symptomatology of Sitkovsky.

Diagnostics

The doctor must do not only a visual examination, but also feel the patient's body to determine the exact diagnosis, send for an ultrasound scan.

Sometimes, you need to do an MRI. The diagnosis includes a blood test, it is necessary to establish not only general clinical indicators, but also coagulability, the presence of infections.

In accordance with the available data, with appendicitis, leukocytes rise to a level of 10-12x109 / l.

Prevention of appendicitis

It is not possible to indicate the exact preventive actions in order to avoid cases of appendicitis, due to the fact that doctors do not fully understand the causes that provoke inflammation of the appendix.

Experts advise:

  • lead a healthy lifestyle, part with the habit of drinking and smoking;
  • there are fewer seeds, grapes;
  • do not overeat;
  • to identify helminthic invasions;
  • establish a correct diet;
  • pay attention to all the signals that the body gives.

A timely visit to a doctor will avoid serious complications. Experts do not recommend taking pills with anesthetic effect in the case of appendicitis.

Taking these drugs will prevent a competent doctor from making an accurate diagnosis. Thanks to the analyzes and symptoms, it will be possible to understand what form the inflamed appendix has and choose the method of performing the operation to remove it.
