Treatment of nail fungus with kombucha

Operating principle

Kombucha is a specific plant substance that consists of yeast and acetic acid bacteria. This is the basis of its therapeutic properties for mycotic infections. A properly prepared kombucha has the following properties, as listed in the table.

Properties Description
IMMUNOMODULATING Restores the protective functions of local and general immunity.
ANTISEPTIC Forms an acidic environment that is incompatible with the life of the fungal flora.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY Prevents the spread of pathogens to healthy tissues of nails and skin.
REGENERATING Accelerates the restoration of the appearance of the lesions.

Despite all the listed therapeutic possibilities, kombucha cannot be considered as an independent folk remedy that can cure an infection. Even at the initial stage, the effectiveness of its impact will be insufficient.

Kombucha can enhance the effect of medications prescribed by a specialist, therefore, most often it becomes an auxiliary agent.

How to cook kombucha from scratch?

Home treatment of toenail fungus requires a specially prepared kombucha infusion with a tart and more acidic taste than usual. That is, it is required to create an increased concentration of medicinal components in the solution, with the help of prolonged exposure, an increase in the volume of sugar and the use of a strong base for tea.

If there is no mushroom at home, you can grow it on your own. For this you will need:

  • 3 liter glass jar;
  • 1 liter of purified water, ideally it should be spring water and enriched with mineral salts;
  • 100 grams of granulated sugar;
  • standard package of large leaf tea.Jar, sugar, large leaf tea

To successfully grow a culture, you must follow the rules of asepsis. The jar is washed under running water without household chemicals and sterilized over steam in the usual way, as in preservation. In the process of processing the container, tea is brewed. For this, 10 tbsp. spoons of raw materials are poured with a liter of boiling water and left to infuse until they cool completely.

Add 14 tbsp to the finished brew. tablespoons of granulated sugar and stir the liquid thoroughly until it dissolves. The infusion is filtered through a fine strainer into a sterile jar. The container is wrapped with gauze and placed in a warm, dark place for 1.5-2 months.

During this period, the development of tea culture takes place - the future fungus, which is formed on the surface layer of the liquid. First, a thin film will appear, which over time will increase in thickness and change color in the light side. This means that the development of the kombucha is normal.

After 8 weeks, the product can be used for medicinal purposes. To do this, 3 cups of boiled water are poured into a sterile liter jar, with the addition of 100 grams of granulated sugar and 1 tbsp. spoons of loose tea. Mix everything and add part of the grown mushroom. Leave the infusion for another 7 days. In a week, the medicine will be ready - it will acquire a sour, vinegar-like taste, it is in this form that the drug helps with nail fungus.

Instructions for use for onychomycosis

The fight against mycosis with the help of the prepared infusion is carried out in two ways - the person takes it inside and / or uses it locally in the lesions. In the first case, it is enough to drink the remedy for 7 days - during this time, the kombucha will have a general strengthening effect on the body, which will reduce the activity of pathogenic flora on the body surface. When applied externally, the infusion will act as an auxiliary component that destroys the external symptoms of onychomycosis.

Consider recipes based on this folk remedy.

TEA MUSHROOM DRINK. As mentioned above, the infusion can be taken orally. It activates the body's defenses, thereby increasing its resistance to pathogenic microflora, including the causative agents of candidiasis and onychomycosis.

Kombucha drinkDrink 1 glass separately from meals 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 7 days. An infusion for this purpose can be prepared not only with ordinary tea leaves, but also with the addition of medicinal plants such as coltsfoot, linden blossom, birch leaf and plantain. It is forbidden to use sage, chamomile and pepper as a nutrient medium - as herbs enriched with essential oils. It is not known how this combination will affect the medicinal properties of kombucha.

BATHROOMS. For their preparation, a 30-day infusion is used. The procedures are carried out daily for 15 minutes. The healing liquid should completely cover the area of the nails and skin affected by the fungus. The recommended course is 10 days.

During this time, the infectious process should recede, and the appearance of the nail should become healthier. Kombucha baths tone up tissues, normalize blood circulation and nutrition in them, improve nail growth and recovery.

Healing baths

The agent can be combined with auxiliary ingredients with similar antifungal activity. That is, it is recommended to diversify the composition of the baths to increase the therapeutic effect. They can consist of kombucha, 9% table vinegar, celandine broth, sea salt and soda.

For example, the infusion is often mixed with 9% table vinegar in a 2: 1 ratio. In the same way, a bath is prepared with the addition of celandine, salt and soda. It is enough to carry out combined procedures 2 times a week, and on other days just use the infusion of kombucha. After each treatment procedure, the nails are processed by removing the softened dead tissue with a nail file.

APPLICATIONS. The simplest and most popular treatment for mycotic foot infection is with Kombucha. Immediately before applying the compress, it is recommended to steam the surface to be treated in a bath and process the nails, for example, using the previous method of treatment.

Applications

After the preliminary procedures have been completed, it is necessary to cut a fragment from the kombucha to the size of the affected nail plate and attach it to it. From above, the applique is covered with plastic wrap and fixed with a bandage. The compress is left overnight. In the morning, the bandage is removed and the feet are washed with running water.

The recommended course of treatment is 10 days, while the application of applications is practiced every other day (only 5 times).

GRUEL. Kombucha is peeled from the film and the pulp is chopped until a puree mass is obtained. It is rubbed into a pre-steamed nail plate and left for 30 minutes. After that, the feet are washed with water. The procedure is repeated 3 times a day.

Kombucha gruel

In combination with antifungal medicines, the use of applications and gruel accelerates the healing process from a mycotic infection. If, as a result of the disease, the loss of the nail plate has occurred, remedies based on kombucha enhance its recovery and growth.

Use in children, pregnant and lactating

Despite the fact that kombucha is completely natural, it is a potent ingredient. Therefore, in certain situations, its use can mean a risk. Internal and external use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

As for children, they can be given an infusion of kombucha, starting from the age of six months, 1 tablespoon per day. From the age of three, the baby can use the drink inside on an equal basis with adults. For external use in children, there are no restrictions.

Reviews

Svetlana, 42 years old. “If the nails have turned yellow and began to crumble, then the cause is mycosis. If you do not want to go to the doctor, you can use the infusion of kombucha. It is acidic and kills the infection. But the processing of the nail, and even better, the dressings need to be done daily, best of all - for the whole night. Recovery in my case came in about 3 weeks. Now I use kombucha from time to time for prophylaxis. "

Olga, 33 years old. “I caught onychomycosis in the pool. Reviews of kombucha in the fight against this problem on the Internet were overwhelmingly positive. I took it out and started treatment. Unfortunately, in my case there is nothing to boast about - it was not possible to completely get rid of the disease in a month of regular baths and compresses. Therefore, I went to the doctor and underwent drug therapy. But I think if I used traditional medicine at the beginning of the disease, she would be able to help. "

Kombucha is an effective remedy against onychomycosis. It must be used in combination with drugs - only if this condition is met, the treatment will be successful. You should adhere to the rules for using the mushroom, and then the nails will quickly return a healthy appearance.
