Dry streptoderma in children
Streptodermia occurs when the skin is affected by a bacterium of the type streptococcus. This disease spreads through normal bodily contact from person to person. The group of streptococcal diseases includes: impetigo, lichen simple, face, streptococcal, streptococcal, dry diffuse streptoderma and ecthima. Most of the types of lesions most often affect children.
Usual dry streptodermia
Dry streptoderma is considered to be an atypical form of impetigo. It usually manifests in children in early spring or autumn. It starts with the fact that on the skin of the chin, nose, cheeks and( much less often) the trunk there are round or oval zones of brittle white peeling. Sometimes the affected areas together merge, forming large scalloped foci. Often next to such open lesions, the same new ones are formed.
Dry streptodermia is used to take( in the case of children) an epidemic pattern. Its rapid spread contributes to several major factors: non-compliance of children( or their parents) with hygiene rules, insufficient wiping and drying of skin after washing. Lishay always gives trouble at first in the form of a slight itch, and then an irresistible, exhausting desire to itch. Under the influence of the bright sun, the disease may disappear for a while, but the combed places will remain unburnt. For the treatment of dermatologists prescribe ointments and "talkers" with antibiotics.
Complicated streptodermia( face)
In case of a mother's face, the face and the umbilical area are usually affected, and then the disease spreads rapidly to the rest of the body. This kind of streptoderma begins( especially in children under one year) with an increase in body temperature, there is a strong chill and fever. Mushroomed areas acquire a bright red color, and, than a child is younger, the more blushing his redness. In the area of the lesion, the skin is hot to the touch, the edges of the inflamed foci have an irregular, blurred shape.
In newborn babies such streptodermia( still called "white face") is very peculiar. At normal, normal temperature of a body the site of a skin, amazed by illness, turns pale. Subcutaneous abscesses, necrosis and blisters begin to occur. Streptodermia in young children is difficult and no less difficult to treat. In case of a baby's face, the condition deteriorates sharply, it becomes sluggish, refuses to eat.
Treatment and prevention of streptodermia
During treatment it is very important to take care of the baby's skin properly. It is necessary to pay close attention not only to the affected skin, but also to take care of the areas unaffected by the disease. Infected kid can not bathe. The foci must be treated daily with disinfectants. This may be a solution of furacilin, rivanol or manganese. If the skin under the hair is affected, then the use of alcohol-containing solutions is contraindicated!
During local treatment, the skin surface is treated with antiseptic agents. Antibacterial ointments and special pastes are applied to the lesions, for example erythromycin or gyoxysone ointment. The best dry streptoderma in young children is with regular use of generic drugs with simultaneous antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action. In the course of general therapy, semi-synthetic pennicinal, antibacterial preparations with a predominantly broad spectrum are introduced. Along with antibiotics, the child is prescribed medications for parallel immunity boosting, vitamins A, C and E.
Preventative measures include ensuring the necessary personal hygiene regimen. Ill child is to be isolated until full recovery. In a room where streptodermia infection occurs in children, careful ventilation( regardless of the season) and wet cleaning should be performed. Also it is necessary to disinfect all toys.
