Allergic cough is an allergic reaction of the human body to a specific allergen, which is accompanied by a cough. In general, children suffer from allergic bronchitis. Allergy is difficult to call a disease. This is most likely a complex of completely different diseases. The immune system of each person works in such a way that all activity is directed to the destruction and expulsion of a foreign substance from the body. The intensity of the functioning of the immune system reaches its peak during an allergic reaction. To destroy a substance that causes allergies, the immune system activates all its forces, resulting in inflammation. Nerve endings are irritated and the vessels dilate. As a result, the muscles in the bronchi contract and there is an endless, torturing child cough.

During this disease, an allergic reaction is formed in the middle and large bronchi. The bronchioles are not affected by the allergic process. For this reason, there are no attacks of suffocation in allergic bronchitis, in contrast to bronchial asthma.

In a child with an allergic bronchitis, during the study with bronchoscopy, paleness and swelling of the bronchial mucosa are observed; in their lumen there is a large amount of mucus, the mouth of the large bronchi is narrowed.

In medicine, allergic bronchitis is considered as one of many manifestations of chronic bronchitis. Classical chronic bronchitis looks symptomatic as well as allergic bronchitis. Modern medicine is not capable of curing a child of allergies. It can only relieve the acute symptoms of the course of the disease.

Symptoms of allergic bronchitis

  • Children become sluggish, moody, sweating and irritable in most cases of allergic bronchitis.
  • With slightly elevated or normal body temperature, children often experience coughing. Cough while it is obtrusive, stubborn and paroxysmal. In most cases, the cough prevails over the child at night.
  • The child in the lungs is listened to by dry inhalation and wet wheezing. The content in the blood of eosinophils is increased to twenty-five to thirty percent.
  • Children who are allergic to bronchitis are more sensitive to different allergens. In general, this allergen is house dust. Outside the home environment in such children, the symptoms of allergic bronchitis disappear completely.
  • From a couple of hours / days to six months, the exacerbation of allergic bronchitis may continue. In the cold season, most often there are exacerbations.

Allergic bronchitis can develop into bronchial asthma, if the time does not begin to treat the child.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to cure completely allergic bronchitis. It is possible only to relieve the acute symptoms of its course. With allergic bronchitis in children, the supervision of a specialist is vitally important.
