How to fix a short bridle of the penis?

click fraud protection

The penis of the penis is a longitudinal fold of the epithelial tissue, providing a normal erection and release of the head of the organ. Often, this anatomical structure undergoes developmental anomalies. One such anomaly is a lack of length( a short frenulum of the penis). This is a very common pathology: it occurs in 20-30% of the entire male population. Why is there such an unpleasant phenomenon, how to eliminate it and how can a bridle be short?

How does the short frenulum of the penis look like?

Penis bridle is the skin fold that passes from the penis head to its foreskin

Developmental factors of the

pathology up toFor some time it was believed that the initial cause of the development of the condition is always congenital and laid in the intrauterine period. But it is not always the case. Indeed, in most cases, pathology is congenital in nature, but in some cases it is formed in the pubertal period, when the size of the penis changes abruptly. However, the growth rate of the bridle does not keep up, it remains short. In practice, similar reasoning makes little sense: to determine the moment when the disease originates is almost impossible, since it is only revealed with the onset of the first erections and sexual life.

Typical manifestations and clinical picture of

In many ways, the clinical picture depends on the degree of shortening of the bridle: the shorter it is, the clearer the symptomatology. Typical manifestations include:

  • Pain syndrome. Its intensity and the moment of manifestation depend on the nature of the pathological process. With a significant shortening of the anatomical structure, the pain appears even at the time of erection, when the bridle tension occurs. If it is long enough, problems arise only when you try to complete sexual intercourse. In especially severe cases, the pain syndrome is so intense that the man is unable to lead a sexual life.
  • Inability to expose the glans penis. Because of the pain syndrome and concomitant phimosis.
  • Bleeding. Bleeding can be caused by a partial or complete rupture of the penile frenulum. Since the anatomical structure has scarce blood supply, the intensity of blood flow is small.
  • Curvature of the penis. The organ is deformed only during an erection, bending downwards, towards the scrotum.
  • Early ejaculation due to intense pain syndrome.
It is not easy to determine the diagnosis, as patients often suffer from concomitant phimosis in a difficult stage, completely excluding sexual activity. Diagnosis in this case is the prerogative of a urologist.

Diagnostic measures

Diagnosis is complicated, for the reason already mentioned. Often the problem is detected accidentally, during the operation to remove the foreskin( during circumcision). At the primary reception, the urologist interrogates the patient for complaints, collects an anamnesis of life. Visual assessment rarely gives positive results: you need an examination of the penis in a state of erection. As an additional measure, a study is made of the general condition of the body with the collection of blood, urine and a smear from the urethra.

Treatment

Therapy is exclusively surgical and there are no alternatives. The "gold standard" of treatment is the so-called frenuloplastika - plastic frenulum of the penis. During the operation, the urologist dissects the bridle in the form of two triangles, and then sews the tissues. This is the safest and most effective surgery, since the postoperative scar is almost invisible and does not interfere with the functionality of the organ. Rarely, they resort to radiosurgery. Often the plastic of the bridle is combined with circumcision( circumcision).

Complications of the short frenulum of the penis

  • The leading complication is a full or partial rupture of the bridle, occurs as a result of an inadvertent sexual intercourse.
  • Another complication is the total inability to lead a sexual life due to painful erections.
  • From the unphysiological consequences can be identified the so-called "sexual neurosis".A strong block is formed, which does not allow later to lead a full sexual life. He can express himself in impotence or early ejaculation.

Postoperative period

The rehabilitation period lasts from 1 to 2 weeks. All this time, patients are recommended to abandon sexual activity in all its manifestations, otherwise the risk of divergence of sutures is great. Twice a day it is necessary to conduct an intimate hygiene of the penis: so the likelihood of infection of the wound will be minimal. Every day, dressings are performed( they are performed in a hospital or a surgeon in general practice in a polyclinic, if the rehabilitation period passes outside the hospital). For preventive purposes, antibacterial preparations of local action may be prescribed.

A short frenum of the penis is a disease that in most cases puts a cross on sexual life. This condition requires prompt correction.

Operations should not be feared: it is a relatively easy intervention, not carrying the danger of life and health. The earlier the correction is made, the better. So the risk of complications is minimal.
