The first symptoms of prostatitis and their exacerbation

The first symptoms of prostatitis appear in the case of inflammation in the prostate gland. In the infectious nature of the pathological process, the clinical picture, as a rule, is more acute and aggravated in a short time. Aseptic or congestive prostatitis is characterized by a gradual appearance of signs of the disease with alternating periods of exacerbation and remission. The following factors can trigger the appearance of the first symptoms of prostatitis:

  • hypothermia;
  • weakening of the body as a result of viral infections;
  • a long period of sexual abstinence;
  • violent sexual intercourse;
  • constipation;
  • stress;Errors in the food;
  • infectious diseases of the genitourinary sphere.

First symptoms of prostatitis

Most often, the initial stages of prostatitis are manifested by disorders of urination, although there may be disorders in the genital area:

  • rapid urination causing the patient to go to the toilet several times a night;
  • difficulty urinating when the urine stream becomes flaccid or the liquid is released by drop;
  • sensation of incomplete emptying of the bladder;
  • a change in the nature of the urine, which becomes turbid, may contain veins of mucus or pus;
  • cutting and burning pain during the urethra during urination;
  • unpleasant pulling sensations in the area of the perineum and in the lower abdomen;
  • appearance of soreness in the act of defecation;
  • decreased potency;
  • deterioration of the quality of orgasm;
  • accelerated ejaculation.

The initial symptoms of prostatitis can hide under the mask of an ordinary cold. So often men feel general weakness, body aches, headache, characteristic of a viral infection. Often, the temperature rises to subfebrile numbers, chills, sleep disorders and mood changes. Such nonspecific signs rarely cause a man to turn to a urologist and only the appearance of disorders of urination suggests that there are problems in the genitourinary sphere.

Exacerbation of prostatitis

For chronic prostatitis, a consistent change in the phases of exacerbation and remission is characteristic. As a rule, the condition of patients with such a diagnosis worsens in the autumn-spring period and in the winter. In these months, you should closely monitor the risk factors for exacerbation of prostatitis and avoid their impact. If the preventive measures turned out to be ineffective and the condition worsened, you should immediately contact a specialist.

To recognize the exacerbation of prostatitis can be on the following grounds:

  • the appearance of pain, severe burning, resists and characteristic "lumbago" in the perineum, urethra, rectum, penis, waist;
  • mucosal discharge from the urethra after urination and defecation;
  • mucosal discharge from the rectum during a severely painful and difficult act of defecation;
  • frequent, painful urge to urinate with a small amount of urine;
  • appearance of a reddish, brown, green-yellow color of urine;
  • sharp unpleasant odor of urine;
  • pain during erection, radiating into the glans penis;
  • decreased quality or lack of erection.

During an exacerbation of chronic prostatitis, there are general symptoms of the presence of an inflammatory process in the body: an increase in body temperature to high figures, diurnal temperature changes, sweating, chills, weakness. Lack of adequate treatment during this period may further exacerbate the course of chronic inflammation in the prostate gland and lead to the development of complications such as prostatic abscesses, sexual dysfunction, infertility.
