click fraud protection

If a man urinates for up to 6 times a day, then this is the absolute norm. There are times when you have to visit the toilet more often. Many do not attach importance to this, especially if the condition is not accompanied by pain, cuts or other symptoms. In fact, not everything is so simple. .. Indeed, if a man ate a watermelon, or drank beer or other soft drinks - then everything is in order, this is a physiological reaction for removing excess fluid. If a person is worried, frightened or even happy, then frequent trips to the toilet are a natural reaction to emotions.

However, frequent urination can cause serious problems in the body.

What diseases can be frequent urination without pain?

Genitourinary infection. If you throw away the physiological causes, first of all, it is worth paying attention to the infection. Such diseases as pyelonephritis, cystitis and urethritis do not always go with pain and cuts. Sometimes the symptoms of these diseases can be very scarce. Sometimes the only manifestations of inflammation in these organs are the increased urge to urinate.

Diseases of the prostate. Such specific male ailments as prostatitis and prostate adenoma often cause multiple trips to the toilet. With prostatitis, inflammation is transmitted to the back of the urethra. With prostate adenoma, a sharp increase in the prostate gland in size leads to squeezing and blocking the urethra.

Prostatitis urination

Prostatitis provokes rapid urination.

Narrowing of the urethra( stricture). Sometimes after an effectively treated inflammation of the urethra, when the infection is suppressed and a man like nothing worries, the so-called stricture of the urethra develops. This narrowing of the urethral lumen due to the effects of inflammation, when a part of the mucosa, recovering, is covered by areas of sclerotized and hypertrophied tissue. This condition leads to a delay in urine and, as a consequence, to frequent urges.

Urolithiasis. Urolithiasis is not always acute pain. If the calculi are located in the bladder, then due to irritation of its walls, the patient marks the imperative urge to urinate, even with the minimum remaining urine.

Diabetes mellitus. In diabetes mellitus, frequent urge to urinate is associated with a reflex attempt of the body to get rid of excessive glucose in the blood. In this case, the act of urination is never accompanied by pain or other unpleasant sensations.

Diabetes insipidus. In addition to diabetes, there is a fairly rare disease - diabetes insipidus( diabetes insipidus). This reverses the filtration of urine in the kidneys. Primary urine does not pass into the secondary, and its excess is excreted by the body. The condition is accompanied not only by frequent, but also by excessive urination.

Making the diagnosis

How do you figure out what is the reason for your frequent urge to urinate and how dangerous is it?

If there is no pain, this is not always an indicator of the absence of inflammation. Any infection, including in the genitourinary area, may be accompanied by other characteristic signs. One of them is an increase in body temperature. This is most common in pyelonephritis. Pain in the lumbar region, absolutely not associated with the act of urination, should also alarm, since it is a symptom of the development of inflammation in the kidneys. With urethritis, serous or purulent discharge sometimes occurs.

Delivery of tests with urination

To make an accurate diagnosis, you will need to take standard tests: blood and urine.

For an accurate diagnosis, additional tests will be required. In the general blood test, ESR and leukocytosis will be determined. Urine will show pyuria( the presence of leukocytes and pus), bacteriuria( bacteria of the pathogen) and other signs of inflammation. Morphological examination of smears from the urethra will help to identify the pathogen and prescribe the right treatment. Confirm or refute pathology in the kidney using the method of ultrasound diagnosis.

With prostatitis and prostate adenoma, a doctor can use palpation through the rectum to identify an enlarged prostate. In addition, with prostatitis, there are other characteristic signs of its inflammation. Ultrasound of the prostate gland with a complete bladder helps to finally establish the correct diagnosis.

Stones in the bladder are also clearly visible on the ultrasound machine. Sometimes you have to resort to the X-ray method of contrast diagnosis. It also helps to identify narrowing of the urinary tract.

With the increase in urination associated with diabetes, the main criterion, in addition to complaints, is the determination of blood glucose level. In diabetes insipid diabetes, the total volume of the secreted fluid is counted. If it is more than three liters per day, the diagnosis is confirmed.

Treatment of rapid urination

In order to get rid of frequent painless urge to enter the toilet, men need to concentrate on fighting the underlying disease that is the cause.

When infection of the genitourinary sphere, antibacterial therapy should be prescribed depending on the pathogen( antibiotics, nitrofurans, etc.).

Prostatitis and prostate adenoma require an integrated approach to treatment. A number of specific drugs remove edema of the prostate. Decreasing in size, it ceases to irritate the walls of the bladder and the urethra and the urge to urinate decreases.

For removal of stones from the bladder, there are a number of instrumental methods from tsostolitotripsii to ultrasonic crushing. When the concrement is destroyed and removed from the body, the bladder does not interfere and the process of urination normalizes.

With diabetes mellitus, it is possible to restore the frequency of urine excretion only by normalizing the glucose values in the blood. Depending on the type of diabetes, insulin or its substitutes are used. Sometimes enough diet and proper regimen of fluid intake, so that frequent urination does not bother the patient. In diabetes insipidus, specific hormones are prescribed to restore the filtration function of the kidneys.

It is important for patients to know that only the doctor can determine the cause of frequent urination without pain and appoint the right treatment! Therefore, when these symptoms appear, you should immediately contact a urologist.
