Patients with cholecystitis and pancreatitis are advised to adhere to a diet according to table number 5. The essence of such a diet is as follows:

  1. Eating 4-5 times a day in moderate portions.
  2. Complete elimination of overeating and periods of prolonged fasting.
  3. The temperature of the consumed food should be no higher than 45 C.
  4. Food should not contain coarse fibers that put a strain on the digestive tract. Dishes should be chopped or grated to make them easier to digest.
  5. Fiber intake should be limited.
  6. Dishes should be steamed, baked or boiled. Fried foods and marinades are not allowed.
  7. The number of consumed chicken eggs should be minimized - no more than 3 pieces per week. Yolks should be discarded, since they contain a large amount of cholesterol.
  8. For the period of exacerbation, it is recommended to completely abandon coffee and strong tea.
  9. Alcoholic drinks are completely prohibited.
  10. Do not cook dishes with a lot of spices during the cooking process.
  11. Meals should contain more protein and less fat.
